Weekend Newsbites: Sat. & Sun., Nov. 21 & 22, 2015

What a BEAUTIFUL day!

A crisp, clear fall morning; blue skies... bright sun... gonna warm up as the day continues...

(*WINK*)

Got all new windows installed yesterday; pretty exciting stuff! Fancy! Energy efficient and all that jazz... PLUS... they open not just up, but out - so Mary can more easily clean the new windows!

(*GUFFAW*)

Hey... I took the manufacturer's stickers off! I've done my part!

(*WINK*)

Already been to EWR and back; had coffee and bagels at my customer's house!

(*GRIN*)

Hey... my buddy Michelle clued me in that - for whatever reason - my Facebook postings aren't always going to the top of her "feed" - even though she has her "feed" set to show them at the top of her list when they're posted.

So... folks... all I can do is advice those of you who "follow" me on Facebook to check out my Facebook page directly every so often. (That is... if you're interested in the news and opinions I share.)

Anyway... that's it!

This weekends "newsbites" will be placed within the Comments Section - as always!

ENJOY...!!!

Democratic state lawmaker John Bel Edwards defeated Republican Sen. David Vitter in Saturday’s run-off election for Louisiana governor.

* SO... THE BAD NEWS: THE DEMOCRAT WON; THE GOOD NEWS: VITTER LOST!

Edwards will take over the office from former 2016 Republican presidential candidate Gov. Bobby Jindal in January.

* TERM-LIMITED OUT, I BELIEVE.

After the results were announced, Vitter said he will also not run for re-election to the Senate.

* SUICIDE IS AN OPTION AS WELL, DAVE! (JUST SAYIN'...)

Vitter entered the race as the early favorite amid a field of lesser known and lesser funded candidates, including state Democratic Rep. Edwards. However, after months of attacks, include those about his 2007 prostitution scandal, Vitter barely defeated his two Republican challengers in last month’s open primary and finished second behind Edwards by roughly 14 percentage points.

* THANK YOU GOP ESTABLISHMENT! THANK YOU FOR PUTTING "TOP-DOWN"/"HIS TURN" POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY ABOVE BASIC COMMON SENSE - NOT TO MENTION ABOVE THE INTERESTS OF THE PEOPLE OF LOUISIANA.

Edwards, who began his gubernatorial bid as a little-known lawmaker from rural Tangipahoa Parish, responded to the spike in Vitter's disapproval ratings with a campaign built on personal integrity, a resume that includes a West Point degree and a tenure as an Army Ranger...

* OK! I'M WILLING TO HOPE FOR THE BEST!
