Barker's Newsbites: Tuesday, November 17, 2015

Mornin', folks!

No newsbites yesterday, but I'm back today!

So... question:

The French have been bombing Raqqa, Syria for the last couple days now. Supposedly Raqqa is the self-proclaimed ISIS "capital."

Supposedly there's a "command center, recruitment center, an ammunition storage depot, and even a terrorist training camp" in this "Capital of the Caliphat."

So... the question is... since supposedly we've been fighting ISIS all along... since supposedly President Obama has been trying to destroy ISIS to... er... keep America safe...

(*SCRATCHING MY HEAD*)

WHY is Raqqa, Syria not already a hole in the ground...???

I mean... shouldn't we - the U.S. - have long ago destroyed this so called "Capital of the Caliphat?" At the very least, shouldn't we have long ago destroyed the "command center... ammunition storage depot... and terrorist training camp?"

Now I realize that asking logical questions isn't a priority for the average member of the Sheeple class... but... what the hell kind of "war" is it that our mighty Commander-In-Chief - Obama the Great - is fighting in America's name?

Anyway... just a point to ponder.

And now... on to Newsbites - found (as always) in the Comments Section.

http://www.insidesources.com/fccs-pai-on-agencys-net-neutrality-warnings-none-of-it-is-true/

A Federal Communications commissioner is doubling down on arguments against the agency’s recent Open Internet Order, saying the agency failed to “identify a single” net neutrality abuse before adopting new regulations over broadband providers earlier this year.

“The commission ominously warned that ‘[t]hreats to Internet openness remain today,’ that broadband providers ‘hold all the tools necessary to deceive consumers, degrade content or disfavor the content that they don’t like,’ and that the FCC continues ‘to hear concerns about other broadband provider practices involving blocking or degrading third-party applications,'” FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai told the Bill of Rights Institute’s Kansas Public Lecture late Thursday.

“The only problem with all of this: none of it is true.”

* SO WHAT ELSE IS NEW?!

“The difficulty with the FCC’s regulations isn’t just their breadth,” Pai said. “They’re also vague.” Pai pointed to the order’s “Internet conduct” standard, which gives the FCC the authority to rule on whether certain business practices providers engage in are permissible. When asked what kind of conduct that entailed, Wheeler responded, “we don’t really know.”

“Instead of providing any specific guidance, he analogized the FCC to a football referee and said that it would throw the flag if it saw behavior that it didn’t like,” Pai said. “That answer, I would submit, is the very definition of regulatory uncertainty.”

“The First Amendment is one of our most cherished principles because it operates as a restraint on government. It lets ideas compete in the marketplace free from any government intervention or regulation.”

“It quite clearly has nothing in common with the FCC’s decision to subject the Internet to extensive government control,” he added.

* TWO-PARTER... (Part 1 of 2)

http://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/press-releases/judicial-watch-email-reveals-top-aide-huma-abedin-warning-state-department-staffer-that-hillary-clinton-is-often-confused/

* WHY ISN'T THIS RECEIVING MORE PLAY?

Judicial Watch today released more than 35 pages of emails former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin revealing that Abedin advised Clinton aide and frequent companion Monica Hanley that it was “very important” to go over phone calls with Clinton because the former Secretary of State was “often confused.”

The emails, from Abedin’s “Huma@clintonemail.com” address, also reveal repeated security breaches, with the Secretary’s schedule and movements being sent and received through Abedin’s non-governmental/unsecured Clinton server account.

The emails [also] document requests for special State Department treatment for a Clinton Foundation associate and Abedin’s mother, a controversial Islamist leader.

The Abedin email material contains a January 26, 2013, email exchange with Clinton aide Monica Hanley regarding Clinton’s schedule in which Abedin says Clinton is “often confused:”

Abedin: Have you been going over her calls with her? So she knows singh is at 8? [India Prime Minister Manmohan Singh]

Hanley: She was in bed for a nap by the time I heard that she had an 8am call. Will go over with her

Abedin: Very imp to do that. She’s often confused.

* CONCLUDING... (Part 2 of 2)

The newly released Abedin emails included a lengthy exchange giving precise details of the Clinton schedule on the Secretary’s final full day in office, Wednesday, January 31, 2013. The email from Lona J. Valmoro, former Special Assistant to Secretary of State Clinton, to Abedin, other top State Department staff, and Clinton associates, reveals exact times (including driving times) and locations of all appointments throughout the day.

(*JUST SHAKING MY HEAD*)

The detailed schedule provided in the Abedin email contains an annotation reading: “The information contained in this email is not to be shared, forwarded or duplicated.”

(*SNORT*)

* DID SHE SPIN AROUND THREE TIMES WHILE CLICKING HER RUBY SLIPPERS WHILE REPEATING: "DON'T HACK ME, BRO; DON'T HACK ME, BRO; DON'T HACK ME, BRO"?

Another Abedin email provides details about a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s leadership.

* VIA CLINTON'S PRIVATE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - HER NON-SECURED PRIVATE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK.

(*SIGH*)

The Abedin correspondence [also] includes several instances in which the Clinton top aide attempted to obtain special treatment from the State Department for business associates and relatives.

(*SNORT*)

In the first instance, Abedin apparently worked with Teneo co-founder and Clinton Global Initiative official Doug Band to intercede on behalf of an individual seeking a visa. In the second instance, Huma Abedin received an email from her mother, Saleha Abedin (a controversial Islamist activist) who founded and serves as dean at Dar al-Hekma University in Saudi Arabia. In the December 11, 2011, email, Saleha Abedin seeks the assistance of her daughter to help the president of her college, Dr. Suhair al Qurashi, attend a State Department “Women in Public Service” ceremony, which included remarks by Hillary Clinton. (Mrs. Clinton spoke at Dar al-Hekma University in 2010. Dr. Qurashi and Saleha Abedin introduced Mrs. Clinton’s speech and moderated the subsequent discussion.)

* GOTTA BE HONEST; THIS "PERSONAL INFLUENCE" STUFF DOESN'T REALLY BOTHER ME VERY MUCH. ALL JOBS HAVE PERKS. THE QUESTION IS... WAS ANYTHING OF VALUE "RECEIVED" (SUCH AS ADDITIONAL CLINTON FOUNDATION "DONATIONS") IN RESPONSE TO THESE "PERSONAL FAVORS?"

“Huma Abedin’s description of Hillary Clinton as ‘easily confused’ tells you all you need to know why it took a federal lawsuit to get these government emails from Clinton’s illegal email server,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

“These emails also show that Hillary Clinton’s and Huma Abedin’s decision to use the Clinton email server to conduct government business was dangerous and risky.”

The documents were obtained by Judicial Watch on October 30, 2015, in response to a June 5 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against the State Department after it failed to respond to a March 18 FOIA request.
