Again... Rand Paul is Full of $hit. And Apparently So Is Ted Cruz. And Mike Lee. (And we KNOW Rubio is...)

My disgust at what Congress did last week with regard to their "Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015" is still literally choking me with rage days later.

Obama... Boehner... Ryan... Pelosi... McConnell... Reid...

Frankly... the world would be a better place if each of them were...

(*PAUSING*)

(*TAKING A DEEP BREATH BEFORE PROCEEDING*)

...er... no longer in office.

(Forgive me, I forget whether or not Boehner is still serving out his term or whether he's officially resigned. In any case, readers will no doubt follow my point.)

First... allow me to excerpt from an article which first appeared on Monday's CNS website:

Before the Senate voted on Friday for a budget deal that eliminates any legal limit on the federal government’s debt until March 16, 2017 — which is after President Barack Obama will have left office — Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky gave a speech on the floor saying that the right and left in Congress together in “an unholy alliance to explode the debt.

* A SPEECH, HUH? WOW...

(*SARCASTIC APPLAUSE*)

“The number one threat to our country’s future is our debt,” said Paul. “The number one threat to our national security is our debt. This deal gives the president the power to borrow unlimited amounts of money."

* Er... SHOULDN'T THAT BE "THE NUMBER ONE THREAT TO OUR COUNTRY'S FUTURE IS OUR COUNTRY'S LEADERS?"

“This deal represents the worst of Washington culture,” said Paul.

* AND DOESN'T WASHINGTON REPRESENT THE WORST OF... AMERICAN CULTURE?

“The Left and the Right have come together in an unholy alliance to explode the debt,” he said. “The Left gets more welfare, the Right gets more military contracts, and the taxpayer is stuck with the deal.”

* NOTICE, FOLKS... NO NAMES ARE MENTIONED. NO ACTUAL RESPONSIBILITY IS ASSIGNED SPECIFICALLY. IT'S ALL GENERALITIES.

(*SPITTING ON THE GROUND*)

* NO MENTION OF PAUL RYAN. NO MENTION OF MITCH MCCONNELL. NOT EVEN ANY MENTION OF BOEHNER... OR OBAMA... OR REID... OR PELOSI.

Paul was especially critical of the element in the bill that completely lifts the debt ceiling until March 2017.

* AND YET... HE DOESN'T NAME THAT PERSON. (I MEAN... SOMEONE PUT THE LANGUAGE IN THE BILL - RIGHT? IT DIDN'T JUST "APPEAR" IN THE BILL BY MAGIC - DID IT?)

“I will not give this president any power to borrow unspecified amounts of money,” he said. “Our debt now equals our entire economy.”

* YOU DON'T HAVE TO "GIVE" THIS PRESIDENT ANY POWER; HE EITHER TAKES IT... OR... IT'S FREELY GIVEN TO HIM BY... REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS - REPUBLICANS WHO CONTROL CONGRESS. (BOTH THE HOUSE AND THE SENATE!)

“The deficit continues to grow because, frankly, many are not serious about reducing the debt,” he said. “Many up here are serious only about increasing spending for their sacred cow."

* "MANY." (OF COURSE NO NAMES ARE MENTIONED; JUST... "MANY.")

* FOLKS... I'M BEGINNING TO REALLY DISLIKE RAND PAUL.

“The true compromise that is necessary in America is for both Right and Left to say enough is enough, to say that the particular interests they have in spending money is hurting the country,” he said. “It is time for the Right to say: You know what; the country is not stronger by going further in debt. The country actually, I believe, is weaker. We do not project power from bankruptcy court."

* OF COURSE HE'S CORRECT... BUT... ALL WE'RE HEARING IS WORDS.

“The Left needs to acknowledge this as well,” he said. “The Left may say this is for humanitarian purposes, we want to help people. I don’t doubt their motives, but I do doubt whether you can help people from bankruptcy court. I think we are weakening our country."

* Er... PERHAPS PART OF THE PROBLEM IS THAT PAUL VOLUNTEERS "I DON'T DOUBT THEIR MOTIVES."

* I DOUBT THEIR FRIGGIN' MOTIVES, RAND! I DO! (YOU FRIGGIN' PUTZ!)

(*SILENCE*)

“One of the reasons why we have been able to help so many people in our country is that we are the richest, most humanitarian country in the history of mankind,” said Paul. “In the year 2014 alone, we gave away nearly $400 billion in private charity in this country. I fear that will not continue to last. I fear that as this deficit mounts, as the debt mounts, they will drag us down.”

“This debt ceiling vote does something that is unprecedented,” he said. “It doesn’t even add a certain amount to the debt. It adds an unspecified amount. Over the next year or year and a half, we will add as much debt as can be crammed into the budget, as much money as can be spent. There will be no limit. We are giving an unspecified amount of borrowing power to the president."

* AND... IT WAS THE REPUBLICAN HOUSE... AND THE REPUBLICAN SENATE... (LED BY PAUL'S FRIEND AND ALLY MITCH MCCONNELL!)... WHICH PASSED THE BILL. (RIGHT?)

“I don’t care whether it is a Democratic president or a Republican president,” he said. “It is unconscionable to give unlimited borrowing authority to the president.”

* NOTICE THIS PIECE OF...

(*GNASHING MY TEETH*)

(*HOLDING MY TONGUE*)

* NOTICE THAT PAUL CAN'T EVEN BRING HIMSELF TO SAY "OBAMA."

Ah... but my friends... it's not so much this CNS article which I wanted to bring to your attention; rather, it's the "underlying remarks" Senator Paul made on the Senate Floor which I want to bring to your attention.

Straight from the Congressional Record, Proceedings of the 114th Congress, Volume 161, Number 161, Friday, October 30, 2015...

(*SIGH*)

No. I'm not going to excerpt.

(*SHRUG*)

If anyone... anyone at all... is interested... you'll find Rand Paul's speech (his... er... "filibuster") contained in pages 5 thru 10.

Do I critique Paul's speech? No. I agree with everything he wrote. (Well... nearly everything.)

But again folks... NOTICE... it's all generalities - at least when it comes to assigning blame.

(*PURSED LIPS*)

Oh... sure... Paul gives example after example of actual waste and idiocy. But... does he name the idiots? No. It's "the system." It's "the culture." It's the "Left" or the "Right." It's the "Democrats" or the "Republicans."

(*RUEFUL CHUCKLE*)

A profile in courage, Rand Paul is certainly not.

And... speaking of "courage"... where exactly was Ted Cruz that night? Oh... he voted. He voted against the bill - as did Marco Rubio. (Lindsey Graham voted FOR it, by the way.)

Cruz is "my" guy. Part of the reason he is "my" guy is because he does tend to name names - calling the scumbags out by name.

It's Wednesday. Days have gone by since the vote. And still... no one except me seems to be interested in posing the question, "Why didn't Paul and Cruz team up to at least try to legitimately... effectively... filibuster this Porkulus bill?"

Rand Paul said he was going to try and filibuster the bill. That was a lie. A deliberate lie. He didn't try. He only promised... and then broke his promise... at which point his defenders came up with the argument that "there was nothing Paul could do; he was blocked procedurally."

(*SMIRK*)

As if Paul didn't... doesn't... know the rules of the Senate. As if Paul doesn't have dozens of staffers - including lawyers - on the payroll to advise him about what's possible and what's not... "procedurally."

(*SPITTING ON THE GROUND*)

But no one seems interested in calling Paul out. (No one except for me that is.)

But back to Cruz... back to Rubio... back to Mike Lee...

(*JUST SHAKING MY HEAD*)

Perhaps four "Tea Party" Senators couldn't have won via using the filibuster... but... they could have tried. I mean... it's not like they didn't have days... actually weeks... notice of what the RINO-Leftist axis was going to do. Paul concedes as much in his commentary delivered on the Senate floor this past Friday!

My friends...

(*SIGH*)

(*PURSED LIPS*)

What are we to believe except that... the fix was in; is in. And this "fix" includes the likes of even Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Mike Lee.

If there's another explanation... shouldn't Paul... or Cruz... or Lee... be sharing it with us?
