People Who Support Hillary Clinton Are Scum (Is That Clear Enough?)

Well... perhaps "scum" is a bit harsh. After all... stupidity CAN be a defense... I suppose...

Bernie Sanders’s surge in Iowa and New Hampshire must be at least partly real, because he’s getting an education in how the Hillary Clinton machine operates under threat. The Vermont Senator is now the target of a familiar enfilade of deceptive attacks, misdirection and character assassination...

The Clinton political method appears to be a dominant gene, because Chelsea started the onslaught.

Mr. Sanders “wants to dismantle” Medicare, ObamaCare and the state children’s health insurance program, she said.

“I worry if we give Republicans Democratic permission to do that, we’ll go back to an era — before we had the Affordable Care Act — that would strip millions and millions and millions of people of their health insurance.”

The nominal basis for these claims is that Mr. Sanders, as a committed socialist, wants to socialize American medicine. He’d replace the programs Ms. Clinton invoked with a single-payer system that would supposedly cover everyone — Medicare for all.

Government medicine would be ruinously expensive and destructive of the quality of care, but Mr. Sanders is sincere in wanting everyone to experience this "utopia." Far from an enemy of government coverage, by progressive standards he’s a purer standard-bearer than Mrs. Clinton.

Mr. Sanders has been candid about the need to raise taxes, even if he calls the hikes “public insurance premiums” that would eliminate private premiums. But you don’t have to be Chief Justice John Roberts to understand he’s talking about taxes.

(*SNORTING LAUGHTER*)

The difference between Mr. Sanders and Mrs. Clinton is political character. He’s a sincere socialist who follows his principles, however unrealistic or calamitous, to their logical conclusions. Mrs. Clinton will conceal her true ambitions if that’s what it takes to win, and she’ll drop on her opponents any political anvils that happen to be handy.

As President, Mrs. Clinton would head in Bernie’s direction - only more slowly.

If ObamaCare continues to under-perform, she’d also expand government control, dragging the U.S. ever closer to single payer. (She might not go full Bernie, but she’d likely expand Medicare to people over age 55 and push Medicaid deeper into the middle class.)

On Tuesday Mrs. Clinton said that “there is no way that can be paid for without raising taxes on the middle class. The arithmetic just doesn’t add up.” That at least is true — but it applies to her agenda too. She’s pretending that all the new programs she wants to create from free child care to debt-free college can be footed by millionaires and billionaires.

The middle class is due for a huge tax increase under the next liberal President for the same reason that Willie Sutton robbed banks — because that’s where the money is.

Only... Mr. Sanders is honest about it.
