Is Anyone Else Just a Bit Curious...

...about this?

"During the long night of violence, the brothers killed an MIT police officer, severely wounded another lawman and hurled explosives at police in a car chase and gun battle, authorities said."

What I'm curious about is how the suspects escaped once they'd been spotted in the first place... once the chase commenced?

As I noted elsewhere, these "explosives" hurled at police apparently didn't blow any policemen - nor innocent civilians nor even property - to bits. In other words... I'm guessing these "explosives" were... umm... either fireworks... or at least more akin to fireworks than to military grade munitions... hand grenades...  "major" explosives.

Hey... I could be wrong... but notice that we're not getting many details... notice that what we're getting is so vague as to elicit reasonable questions such as I'm raising here.

Here's how the same news report describes Boston and the surrounding areas as far as police presence goes:

"From Watertown to Cambridge, police SWAT teams, sharpshooters and FBI agents surrounded various buildings as police helicopters buzzed overhead and armored vehicles rumbled through the streets. Authorities also searched trains."

Which brings me back to how exactly the 19 year old younger brother got away... escaped the forces of the law... these forces backed by the F.B.I., I'm assuming A.T.F., D.E.A, Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts National Guard... and on and on and on.

No drones available? No satellite coverage? Not even one of those helicopters described as "buzzing overhead?"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it hasn't been alleged that the brothers had "heavy weapons," 50-caliber machine guns... missile launchers... anti-tank missiles... has it?

So... (*SCRATCHING MY HEAD*)... exactly how is it that the car chase didn't end with both suspects captured... or both dead... or one dead and the other captured... (*PAUSE*)... instead of with a 19 year old student escaping the net of combined local/city/state/federal law enforcement...???

Just curious...
