Newly minted college graduates soon entering the job market could be facing another hurdle besides high unemployment and a sluggish economy. Hiring managers say many perform poorly — sometimes even bizarrely—in job interviews.

* WHY DO I BRING THIS ARTICLE TO YOUR ATTENTION? FOLKS... CONNECT THE DOTS... UNDERSTAND THAT OUR NATIONAL DECLINE IS IF ANYTHING ACCELERATING.

Human resource professionals say they've seen recent college grads text or take calls in interviews, dress inappropriately, use slang or overly casual language, and exhibit other oddball behavior.

* WHAT... KIND... OF... SCHOOLS... HAVE... THEY... ATTENDED...?!?!

"It's behavior that may be completely appropriate outside the interview," says Jaime Fall, vice president of the HR Policy Association. "The interview is still a traditional environment."

* ACTUALLY, "JAIME," IT'S NOT "COMPLETELY APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR EVEN OUTSIDE AN INTERVIEW. (BUT IN ANY CASE...)

Fall and other HR executives say such quirks have become more commonplace the past three years or so, and are displayed by about one in five recent grads.

* ACCORDING TO "THE MATH OF BILL," THAT'S... OH... 20%.

* WELCOME TO AMERICA 2013, FOLKS.

http://p.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/apr/29/immigration-bill-grants-amnesty-employers-illegals/

The debate is raging over whether the latest immigration bill is an amnesty for illegal immigrants, but one part is clear:

The legislation would forgive businesses that have employed those immigrants illegally.

The last time Congress granted an amnesty, in 1986, lawmakers legalized millions of immigrants but vowed to secure the borders and crack down on businesses that were magnets for the flow of people.

* LEGISLATORS LIED. THEY LIED THEN. THEY'RE LYING NOW.

Knowingly hiring illegal immigrants became illegal and is punishable by fines ranging from $250 per employee for a first offense up to $10,000 per employee for a third offense. If prosecutors can demonstrate a pattern, employers can face up to six months in jail.

The Center for Immigration Studies says more attention should be given to the free pass for businesses [which is part of the latest "reform" effort]. It counts four different ways businesses get a break:

Employers who have illegal immigrants on their payroll can keep them there with no penalty; there is no assessment of back taxes for their employees who worked off the books; those who paid unfair wages will not be prosecuted; and those who aided fraud by accepting bogus Social Security numbers won’t face a penalty.

* FUCKING DISGUSTING...

“It lets businesses that knowingly violated the law off the hook,” Mr. Krikorian said. “If they were not withholding payroll taxes, they’re held harmless. If they were violating labor laws, they’re held harmless. So this is a boon for crooked business.”

* THREE-PARTER... (Part 1 of 3)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/antiabortion-group-releases-videos-of-clinic-workers-discussing-live-births/2013/04/28/36678eb0-adf5-11e2-98ef-d1072ed3cc27_story.html

[A] group that mounted a six-month undercover investigation has released videos this week that raise questions about what might happen to a baby as a result of an unsuccessful abortion.

One video features a D.C. doctor, Cesare Santangelo, who said that in the unlikely event that an abortion resulted in a live birth, “we would not help it.”

* SOUNDS TO ME AS IF THERE'S GROUNDS TO TAKE REVOKE SANTANGELO'S LICENSE.

Santangelo was answering repeated questions from an undercover operative about what would happen, hypothetically, if she gave birth after an unsuccessful abortion.

“I mean, technically, you know, legally, we would be obligated to help it, you know, to survive, but it probably wouldn’t,” Santangelo is shown telling the woman, who was 24 weeks pregnant. “It’s all in how vigorously you do things to help a fetus survive at this point.”

* GEEZUS...

Live Action president Lila Rose said the group’s videos expose “truly gruesome, illegal and inhuman practices.”

In an interview with The Washington Post, Santangelo said he was trying to reassure the woman, who turned out to be an undercover operative of the group, Live Action. In reality, he said, he would call 9-1-1. But he said he stands by what he said on tape.

* AGAIN... BASED UPON WHAT THE DOCTOR INITIALLY SAID THERE'S SIMPLY NO DOUBT THAT HIS LICENSE SHOULD BE REVOKED.

“What I said is, basically I wouldn’t do anything extraordinary,” he said Saturday. “We would call EMS. We would call 9-1-1. But I wouldn’t do intubation or anything. . . . You let nature take its course.”

* DISGUSTING.

* TO BE CONTINUED...

* CONTINUING... (Part 2 of 3)

The videos do not depict Santangelo doing anything illegal.

* NO... IT JUST SHOWS HIM SAYING HE WOULD DO SOMETHING ILLEGAL! (FRIGGIN' WASHINGTON POST JUST CAN'T HELP ITSELF...)

Live Action provided an advance copy of the video, and other extended footage of the D.C. clinic encounter, to The Post on the condition that it not be published before Monday. Also on the extended tape is a nurse saying unequivocally that the clinic would take any live birth to a hospital.

* THE DOCTOR SAID WHAT THE DOCTOR SAID. LET'S NOT WASTE TIME WITH THIS DELIBERATE ATTEMPT TO CONFUSE THE ISSUE.

Under D.C. law, it is generally permissible for one party to a conversation to record it without consent.

* GOOD!

Live Action plans to release more videos as part of a campaign targeting clinics that perform abortions late in pregnancy, also known as “late-term” abortions.

* WHAT BRILLIANT WRITING, HUH...! (*SNORT*)

It claims that the videos show that abortion doctors are willing to kill babies in violation of the federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act of 2002, which requires them to try to save a child born during a failed abortion using the same measures used in miscarriages or preterm births at the same stage of pregnancy.

* AND THAT'S WHAT THE SANTANGELO VIDEO SHOWS... RIGHT? THAT'S WHAT SANTANGELO SAID... NOT KNOWING HE WAS BEING RECORDED... UNDER NO DIRESS.

No authorities have accused Santangelo of violating the law.

* WHAT DO YOU SUPPOSE IS GONNA HAPPEN TO A SECRET SERVICE AGENT WHO SAY, "OH... SURE... IF SOMEONE TRIED TO KILL OBAMA I'D SIMPLY STEP ASIDE AND LET NATURE TAKE ITS COURSE,"?

* FOLKS... NO ONE IS SAYING THIS PROVES SANTANGELO BROKE THE LAW. WHAT I'M SAYING IS THAT WHAT HE ADMITTED SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO STRIP HIM OF HIS LICENCE TO PRACTICE MEDICINE.

Another video released Sunday shows an unidentified worker in the Bronx saying the clinic would put the baby in a jar of “solution” that would cause it to stop breathing. Marjana Banzil, director of the Bronx clinic, said Friday she had not viewed the video but that any employee who would say such a thing was misinformed.

* IF THERE'S AN INVESTIGATION I'M HOPING THIS WORKER SELF-IDENTIFIES (OR IS OUTED) AND IS FORCED TO TESTIFY UNDER OATH.

“I have never had any fetus that was born alive,” Banzil said. “If my staff member or somebody had mentioned something [like that], it was something they didn’t understand.”

* UH-HUH. (LET'S SEE IF HER STORY IS THE SAME UNDER OATH...)

Live Action is calling for investigations of the Washington Surgi-Clinic and Dr. Emily Women’s Health Center in the Bronx.

* SOUNDS LIKE A REASONABLE CALL!

* TO BE CONTINUED...

* CONCLUDING... (Part 3 of 3)

The group outfitted three women between 23 and 26 weeks pregnant with tiny cameras and sent them to 18 clinics pretending to seek abortions. They were unable to gain access to other clinics because of scheduling conflicts and because they were too far along in their pregnancies. Rose said the women were recruited and paid between $1,000 and $2,500.

* AND BY ALL MEANS PUBLISH THE NAMES OF THE CLINICS WHO PLAYED BY THE RULES! THEY DESERVE RECONGNITION!

Most states have some restrictions on late abortions, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a non-profit reproductive health research center.

In Maryland and Virginia, abortions are not allowed beyond when the fetus becomes viable, except in situations where the woman’s “life and health” are threatened.

Maryland also allows exceptions for fetal abnormalities.

In both states, the doctor performing the abortion makes those determinations. In Virginia, a second doctor must approve it.

The District has the fewest restrictions, with no specific rules governing late-term abortions.

* GEEZUS...

At 37 weeks, a baby is generally considered full-term.

One percent of American abortions — perhaps about 15,000 each year — are done after 21 weeks.

No group has statistics on how many fetuses survive an abortion, experts said.

* AND YET FETUSES HAVE SURVIVED ATTEMPTED ABORTIONS.

But it can happen when doctors use suppositories to help open a woman’s cervix days before the abortion. The suppositories can, in rare instances, trigger labor.

Bonnie Hope Arzuaga, a Chicago neonatologist who co-wrote a 2011 study in the journal Pediatrics that looked at the limits of viability, said the lack of clarity in the federal Born-Alive law often leaves the decision up to the states and the individual doctor.

“You have to use your professional judgment, you have to use ethical principles, and a lot of times law and ethics don’t agree,” she said. People don’t realize that physical intervention to resuscitate a 23-week-old infant can cause major damage to its lungs and brain, she said.

When patients with wanted pregnancies deliver prematurely at 23 to 26 weeks, she gives the woman or parents a choice, laying out what may be in the best interest of the baby and its quality of life. “Do they want us to ‘do everything,’ or do they want us to provide comfort care, wrap the baby in a blanket and let them hold it until it passes away?”

* ...THE... B*A*B*Y...

Santangelo, 56, said he’s been a practicing obstetrician-gynecologist in the District since 1987. ... He said he sometimes refuses late-term abortions if he feels women have been coerced or are in extramarital affairs, are seeking to terminate because of the sex of the child, or seem unsure whether they want the procedure.

* SO HE PLAYS GOD. A VIABLE FETUS IS A BABY IS HE SEES IT AS SO... AND NOT IF HE DOESN'T. THIS... IS... SICK.

When a patient is seeking a late-term abortion, he said, he will insert a suppository to open her cervix. Two days later, he said, he completes the procedure by cutting the umbilical cord until the cord stops pulsing. Then he removes the fetus. He said he has never had a live birth during an abortion.

* SOUNDS LIKE MURDER TO ME.

He said he was “tripped up” by a hypothetical at a moment when he was trying to reassure a client. “Once the baby is born, it’s out of everybody’s hands, and the baby has rights, too,” he said. “I understand that and I support that.”

* "TRIPPED UP." NOPE. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT FOR A SECOND. AT LEAST HAVE THE GUTS TO STAND BY YOUR PRNCIPLES, DOCTOR... SUCH AS THEY ARE.

He said he has not watched the video because “I don’t like to feed into these people. I really consider them terrorists.”

* THE MORE THE DOCTOR SPEAKS THE MORE I DETEST HIM.

The House Judiciary Committee reported Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, traveled around the world on an official trip in February that cost $23,646. The Feb. 16-22 trip on commercial flights was to Korea, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Jackson Lee did not travel over or back with CODEL Landrieu that included several members of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption. The delegation was to meet with local community leaders, adoption officials, and other government officials, such as the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. Jackson Lee took commercial flights over and caught up with the delegation in Seoul, South Korea. After visiting South Korea, Vietnam and Cambodia, she then left the delegation early for her return commercial fight through Frankfurt, Germany.

The trip costs included $19,970 for transportation, $1,292 for per diem and $2,385 for other purposes.

* $1,292.00 PER DIEM.

* RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU THINK YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THE U.S. GOVERNMENT ADDS TO THE NATIONAL DEBT PER DAY? ANSWER: SOMEWHERE BETWEEN $3.2 BILLION AND $3.8 BILLION PER DAY.

* BY RON PAUL, M.D.

Forced lockdown of a city.

Militarized police riding tanks in the streets.

Door-to-door armed searches without warrant.

Families thrown out of their homes at gunpoint to be searched without probable cause.

Businesses forced to close.

Transport shut down.

These were not the scenes from a military coup in a far off banana republic, but rather the scenes just over a week ago in Boston as the United States got a taste of martial law.

(*NOD*)

The ostensible reason for the military-style takeover of parts of Boston was that the accused perpetrator of a horrific crime was on the loose.

* YA EVER HEAR OF SON OF SAM? HOW'BOUT THE WASHINGTON SNIPER? THE CRIPES...? THE BLOODS...?

The Boston bombing provided the opportunity for the government to turn what should have been a police investigation into a military-style occupation of an American city. This unprecedented move should frighten us as much or more than the attack itself.

* AND FRANKLY IT DOES. BUT WHAT FRIGHTENS ME MORE IS HOW THE SHEEPLE NOT ONLY ACCEPTED IT... BUT APPLAUDED IT.

What has been sadly forgotten in all the celebration of the capture of one suspect and the killing of his older brother is that the police state tactics in Boston did absolutely nothing to catch them.

* FOLKS... REMEMBER THAT QUESTION I RAISED ABOUT HOW THE YOUNGER BROTHER ESCAPED IN THE MIDST OF THE CAR CHASE? AS FAR AS I KNOW IT NEVER HAS BEEN ANSWERED.

While the media crowed that the apprehension of the suspects was a triumph of the new surveillance state – and, predictably, many talking heads and Members of Congress called for even more government cameras pointed at the rest of us – the fact is none of this caught the suspect. Actually, it very nearly gave the suspect a chance to make a getaway.

The “shelter in place” command imposed by the governor of Massachusetts was lifted before the suspect was caught. Only after this police state move was ended did the owner of the boat go outside to check on his property, and in so doing discover the suspect.

* YEP...!!!

He was discovered by a private citizen, who then placed a call to the police. And he was identified not by government surveillance cameras, but by private citizens who willingly shared their photographs with the police.

As journalist Tim Carney wrote last week: “Law enforcement in Boston used cameras to ID the bombing suspects, but not police cameras. Instead, authorities asked the public to submit all photos and videos of the finish-line area to the FBI, just in case any of them had relevant images. The surveillance videos the FBI posted online of the suspects came from private businesses that use surveillance to punish and deter crime on their property.”

* FOLKS... THIS IS A CRUCIAL POINT... A POINT THAT THE MEDIA HAVEN'T PRESSED. (*SHRUG*)

Sadly, we have been conditioned to believe that the job of the government is to "keep us safe," but in reality the job of the government is to protect our liberties. Once the government decides that its role is to keep us safe, whether economically or physically, they can only do so by taking away our liberties.

* AGREED!

Three people were killed in Boston and that is tragic. But what of the fact that over 40 persons are killed in the United States each day, and sometimes ten persons can be killed in one city on any given weekend?

* CHICAGO... CHICAGO... THAT TODDLING TOWN... (*GRIN*) (*SMIRK*)

These cities are not locked-down by paramilitary police riding in tanks and pointing automatic weapons at innocent citizens.

* MAYBE THEY SHOULD BE... BUT THEY'RE NOT.

[The government response to the Boston bombings waS] unprecedented and is very dangerous.

* I AGREE.

We must educate ourselves and others about our precious civil liberties to ensure that we never accept demands that we give up our Constitution so that the government can pretend to protect us.

* TOO LATE, I FEAR.
