Barker's Newsbites: Friday, April 19, 2013

Well... they "got" one of the suspects in the Boston bombing.

Dead.

"Tamerlan Tsarnaev, a 26-year-old who had been known to the FBI as Suspect No. 1 and was seen in surveillance footage in a black baseball cap, was killed overnight, officials said. His 19-year-old brother - dubbed Suspect No. 2 and seen wearing a white, backward baseball cap in the images from Monday's deadly bombing at the marathon finish line - escaped."

The brother's name - Dzhokhar Tzaraev.

(Folks... apparently the AP is now hiring middle school students to write breaking news feature pieces! Follow the link... read the full article. Poorly written and edited. Shamefully so.)

 The two brothers are supposedly from Russia "near" Chechnya.

According to the AP they've "lived in the U.S. for about a decade."

(No idea whether they've been living here legally... no reporting... no speculation... no mention of their actual "status" other than the AP article passing on a quotes taken from a phone interview with the men's father - in Russia - who claims Dzhokhar is a "true angel" and "a second year medical student" here in the U.S.)

Were our people instructed to try and capture - rather than kill - the suspects so as to allow proper interogations and intelligence gathering for purposes of the broader "war on terror?" I have no idea. Those are the instructions I would have given... but then again... I would have made damn sure that bin Laden was captured alive.

Will Tamerian's brother Dzhokhar be killed rather than captured, thus making it difficult if not impossible to ascertain whether there was a wider conspiracy... whether foreign government or foreign terrorist  assets were involved - or if not involved then knew about in advance - in any way with these two brothers and their "alleged" terrorist actions?

We'll see, folks... we'll see... (At least I hope we'll see! After all... look how effective the Administration and their media allies were when it came to "damage control" regarding Benghazi.)

Some 35 people - including 10 first responders - died in a massive explosion Wednesday night at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas, Mayor Tommy Muska said, according to USA Today.

* THIRTY-FIVE...

George Smith, West's director of emergency services, has said the death toll could spike to 60 or 70.

(*PURSED LIPS*)

More than 160 people were injured. ... Glenn Robinson, the head of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco where many victims were taken, said 29 patients were still hospitalized, including five that were in the intensive care unit.

"It was like a nuclear bomb went off," said Mayor Tommy Muska. ... Authorities searched through mounds of rubble in hopes of finding survivors of the blast that left shattered homes and wreckage in a wide swath of the town, which has only 2,800 people.

About half the town was evacuated, including the nursing home with 133 residents. ... The blast stripped the apartment complex, with 50 units, of its walls and windows. "It was just a skeleton standing up," said D.L. Wilson of the Texas public safety department.

Between 50 and 60 homes in a five-block area sustained damage, officials said. Pastor Lester Adams said he met with a family that was shattered by the explosion. The mother had part of her ankle missing and her feet were crushed, he said. Her daughter had cuts and her son had to get six "staples" in the back of his head.

As of Thursday afternoon, authorities had not determined what led to the deadly explosion. Cawthon said his sheriff's office; the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and the state fire marshal's office are working "to determine the exact cause of the situation." Waco Police Sgt. William Patrick Swanton said earlier there were no indications of criminal activity but that wasn't being ruled out yet.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott told reporters "it's way premature" to determine whether any criminal charges could be sought in relation to the deadly explosion.

A U.S. intelligence official told CNN there is no indication so far that the blast is related to terrorism.

* AND NOW WE RETURN YOU TO YOUR ROUND THE CLOCK COVERAGE OF... er... BOSTON.

http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/brooklyn/melee-erupts-cops-arrest-muslim-teen-taunting-jewish-subway-rider-article-1.1320655#ixzz2QuwKlYDy

The attempted arrest of an allegedly hate-mongering teen aboard a Brooklyn subway quickly turned into a wild showdown between cops and a roiled mob, according to sources and video obtained by the Daily News.

* A "ROILED" MOB.

(*GUFFAW*

The melee began when suspect Stephan Stowe, 17, and a group of eight friends approached a Jewish man wearing a yarmulke aboard a Brooklyn-bound 3 train just before 3 p.m. Monday, police sources said Wednesday.

* HMM... JUST WONDERING... DO YOU SUPPOSE "STEPHAN AND HIS FRIENDS" HAD ANYTHING IN COMMON...?

"Assalamu Alaikum," Stowe said to the man, using a common greeting among Muslims that means, "Peace be with you," court documents allege.

* NO PROBLEM! OBVIOUSLY BAITING THE GUY... BUT THAT'S OK... WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF BALL BUSTING. NOTHING ILLEGAL. NOTHING THREATENING.

When the man ignored the greeting, Stowe allegedly became combative.

* AND THUS... IT STARTS.

"You think you're better than me?" the teen allegedly said. "We are cousins."

"No we’re not," The man shot back, and told Stowe to leave him alone.

* AND AT THAT POINT...

The suspect then started hurling ethnic slurs and called the man disrespectful, according to court papers.

As the tension aboard the train escalated, the man whipped out his cell phone and took a photo of Stowe, who then snatched the phone and deleted the photo, police sources said.

* THAT WAS A NO-NO!

"I'm going to kill you right now," Stowe said, according to cops and court records.

* TERRORISTIC THREAT I BELIEVE...

(*SHRUG*)

He then swore at the man, according to cops and court records, and in an apparent reference to the Holocaust added, "They should have killed all of you."

* YA SEE, I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT SHIT... BUT TAKING THE GUY'S CELL PHONE... THREATENING TO KILL HIM... THOSE ARE THE CRIMES!

The man managed to swipe his phone back from Stowe and ran to alert the conductor, police sources said. As the train pulled into the Eastern Parkway/Brooklyn Museum stop, cops were waiting to collar Stowe, police sources said.

But that's when a mob rose up against the cops.

* WHAT MOB? A MULTICULTURAL MOB?

(*RUEFUL CHUCKLE*)

A pair of police officers struggled to detain Stowe inside the empty train while the angry onlookers swarmed the station's platform snapping video and yelling at cops, video first published by Gothamist on Wednesday shows.

Alarmed by the swelling crowd, the cops called for backup, police sources said.

* SOUNDS LIKE A SMART MOVE!

Amid the chaos - and while Stowe appeared to resist arrest - a woman aboard the train, Sheniqua Joseph, 22, "got involved," according to police and the video. After four minutes of alleged badgering of the officers, cops tried to place Joseph under arrest, video shows, and eventually slammed her against a wall while she went ballistic.

Joseph is accused of throwing a haymaker at one of the cops and kicking him in the stomach, court records allege.

* I WOULD HAVE TASARED THE BITCH! EITHER THAT OR KNOCKED HER OUT COLD.

She was arraigned on charges of obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Stowe was arraigned on eight charges, including grand larceny, which was charged as a hate crime, resisting arrest and harassment.

* AGAIN... I'M OPPOSED TO "HATE CRIMES" ON PRINCIPLE. A CRIME IS A CRIME. AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES CAN BE THROWN INTO THE MIX... BUT BASICALLY A CRIME IS A CRIME.

Stowe and Joseph could not be reached for comment Wednesday night. The victim of the alleged hate crime declined to comment.

Two eighth grade students are now recovering from a terrifying attack in Queens.

The girls were jumped by a mob of high school students in Astoria and the fight was all caught on video.

* JUST YOUR COMMON, EVERYDAY, MULTICULTURAL MOB... IRISH-AMERICAN THUGS... ITALIAN-AMERICAN THUGS... JUST "AVERAGE" FOLKS LIKE YOU AND ME...

(*SNORT*)

Cellphone cameras were rolling as a wild mob scene broke out in Astoria Park on Friday.

* YEP... YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELVES HOW "MULTICULTURAL" THE "MOB OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS" WAS.

Stuck in the middle was 14-year-old Samatha Gonzalez, seen on the video in a black and white striped shirt.

* HERE'S THE SUB-HEADER:

Victims Say Even Boys Joined Attack That Also Involved Belt Buckles, Umbrellas

(*CLAP...CLAP...CLAP*)

Police said they are actively looking for the students seen on the video. The victims were able to identify some of their attackers.

No arrests were made.

* AND IF THERE ARE EVENTUALLY ARRESTS MADE...??? I'M GUESSING THE ANIMALS WILL GET SLAPS ON THE WRISTS.

The two suspects are brothers, authorities said, and are believed to have come to the United States with their family several years ago from the southern Russian republic of Chechnya. State Department officials said the family appears to have arrived in the country legally.

* SEE... NOW WE'RE GETTING SOMEWHERE! (IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE STATE DEPARTMENT WAS ACTUALLY SURE... BUT BY GIVING THIS INFO IN THE SECOND PARAGRAPH OF THEIR STORY AT LEAST THE WASHINGTON POST EDITORS ARE SHOWING SOME COMPETENCE!

Boston and its suburbs were in an unprecedented state of lockdown, with mass transit canceled, schools and business closed and hundreds of thousands residents ordered to stay indoors.

* WHICH SEEMS... INSANE. (*SHRUG*) SERIOUSLY, FOLKS... THE ZODIAC KILLER... SON OF SAM... THE WASHINGTON D.C. SNIPERS... AN AVERAGE DAY IN CHICAGO OR PHILADELPHIA... AND YET IN THOSE CASES SAN FRANCISCO, NEW YORK, WASHINGTON D.C. ... LIFE WENT ON.

* NOW... FROM PARAGRAPH 15:

The suspects fled, throwing what Procopio called “IEDs” at police. Shots were fired, and multiple explosive devices were thrown from the vehicle. Some exploded, which led to panic and concern in the town.

* FIRECRACKERS...? M-80's...??? STICKS OF DYNOMITE...??? HAND GRANADES...??? FOLKS... NOTICE... NO ACCOUNTS OF THESE "MULTIPLE EXPLOSIVE DEVICES - AKIN TO IED's - ACTUALLY DOING MUCH PHYSICAL HARM. (JUST SAYIN'...)

Richard J. Donohue, 33, a three-year-veteran of the transit police force, was shot during the chase and is being treated at Mount Auburn Hospital, authorities said.

* EXACTLY MY POINT! "SHOT." NOT "BLOWN UP" BY AN IED OR ANY OF THE "MULTIPLE EXPLOSIVE DEVICES."

* THREE-PARTER... (Part 1 of 3)

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/346043/cooking-books-deportation-stats

It is one of the Obama administration’s favorite talking points on immigration: "[We have' been deporting illegal immigrants in record numbers."

That bolsters its credentials on enforcement and supports the argument that, now that we’ve gotten tough on the border, it is time to enact comprehensive immigration reform.

But figures recently unearthed by a federal lawsuit in Texas cast serious doubt on the administration’s deportation claims.

(*SMIRK*)

The number of deportations appears to have declined significantly during the president’s term in office.

* WHICH IS AGAINST THE ADMINISTRATION'S - AND THE MEDIA'S - CLAIMS.

Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies for the Center for Immigration Studies, has analyzed a set of largely unpublished official statistics on immigration-enforcement activity over the past five years. Earlier this month, Vaughan testified in court on behalf of a group of U.S. Immigration and Customs (ICE) agents who are suing the administration over its use of “prosecutorial discretion” in dictating how immigration law is enforced — or not enforced. The agents are seeking an injunction against a series of policy directives from ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that were designed to regulate the extent to which ICE officers could initiate deportation proceedings for illegal immigrants in their custody.

In her testimony on April 8, Vaughan noted that, contrary to the administration’s claims, the number of illegal-immigrant removals has dropped 40% since June 2011, when ICE director John Morton issued the first of several directives outlining significant changes to the agency’s enforcement policies.

“There has been a significant decline in enforcement activity as measured by the number of removals,” Vaughan says.

* CONTINUING... (Part 2 of 3)

Deportations specifically of illegal immigrants convicted of a crime — individuals the administration says it has prioritized for removal — are similarly down, almost 40% since June 2011, Vaughan found.

(And that decline has occurred despite a significant increase in the number of illegal immigrants referred to ICE after being arrested for crimes.)

“There are certainly enough illegal aliens out there, especially enough criminal illegal aliens, that their numbers should be going up, not down,” Vaughan says. “So they appear to be giving a lot of free passes to people who are a public-safety problem, beyond the fact that they are here illegally.”

Removals generated by ICE’s Enforcement and Removals division, which is responsible for interior immigration enforcement, have decreased nearly 50% since June 2011. Vaughan says the administration has been inflating its deportation statistics by including a greater number of U.S. Border Patrol cases — illegal immigrants picked up at the border and subsequently referred to ICE — as part of its annual statistics.

(Border Patrol cases accounted for 56 percent of removals reported in fiscal year 2013, up from 33% in 2008. Typically, an individual apprehended at the southern border is simply returned to Mexico without being processed as a deportation by ICE.)

Vaughan says this undermines the administration’s claim that pursuing criminal cases is its top priority. This was the primary argument that DHS secretary Janet Napolitano put forward in June 2012, when she issued a directive instructing ICE officers to refrain from initiating deportation proceedings for illegal immigrants who might qualify for “DREAM status” — immigrants who were brought here illegally, are currently enrolled in school or the military, and have not been convicted of a "serious" crime.

“They have been justifying policies by saying it enables them to focus more on criminals,” Vaughan says. “What’s happening is actually the opposite. The majority of resources are going toward supporting Border Patrol activity.”

* CONCLUDING... (Part 3 of 3)

Internal e-mails uncovered earlier this year show that ICE officials, concerned about the falling numbers of criminal deportations, have directed agents to come up with methods to reverse that trend. “The only performance measure that will count this fiscal year is the criminal-alien removal target,” former assistant director of ICE field operations David Venturella wrote in an e-mail in April 2012 to agents in Atlanta. However, Vaughan said she could find no discernible uptick in criminal deportations that might have resulted from this new emphasis.

Chris Crane, who heads the union representing more than 7,000 ICE agents and officers, tells NRO that he has long been baffled by the administration’s claims of record deportation numbers. “We just don’t see it in our offices,” he says. “Every year we supposedly break the record for deportation, and we can’t figure out what’s going on. We don’t believe these numbers.”

(Administration officials claim to have deported 409,849 immigrants in fiscal year 2012, up from 392,000 in 2010. Crane argues that stats are being cooked to create a false impression of President Obama’s record on immigration enforcement.)

“DHS and ICE are knowingly manipulating arrest and deportation data with the specific intent of misleading the American public with regard to the enforcement of illegal immigration in our country,” Crame told reporters Thursday at a Capitol Hill press conference. “At an alarming rate, ICE arrest and deportation numbers have plummeted since 2008, clear evidence that interior enforcement has in large part been shut down over the last four years.”

Administration lawyers did not extensively challenge Vaughan’s court testimony, other than to introduce a bar graph, based on ICE statistics, showing that convicted criminals accounted for 55% of all deportations in fiscal year 2012.

(*PURSED LIPS*)

That figure is misleadingly high, Vaughan stresses, because it includes a large number of Border Patrol removals referred to ICE. In some cases that transfer process may have led to double counting, further inflating the total number of removals, she says.

* QUESTION: IF VAUGHAN IS INDEED FULL OF SHIT... WHY ISN'T THE ADMINISTRATION DIRECTLY CONTRADICTING HER SPECIFIC CLAIMS UNDER OATH...???

* QUESTION: IF VAUGHAN HAS LIED UNDER OATH... SHOULDN'T THE FEDS BE PROSECUTING HER FOR PERJURY...???

http://www.wowktv.com/story/22020264/8th-grade-student-arrested-over-gun-t-shirt

When 8th grade Jared Marcum got dressed for school on Thursday he says he had no idea that his pro-Second Amendment shirt would initiate what he calls a fight over his First Amendment rights.

"I never thought it would go this far because honestly I don't see a problem with this, there shouldn't be a problem with this," Jared said.

* THE KID IS RIGHT; CHECK OUT THE SHIRT. INDEED, SCROLL DOWN AND YOU'LL NOTE THAT THE SCHOOL'S DRESS CODE BACKS UP THE KID'S CONTENTION.

It was the image of a gun printed on Jared's t-shirt that sparked a dispute between a Logan Middle School teacher and Jared, that ended with Jared suspended, arrested and facing two charges, obstruction and disturbing the education process, on his otherwise spotless record.

* SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THE KID HAS ONE HELL OF A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE SCHOOL AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT!

Jared's father Allen Lardieri says he's angry he had to rush from work to pick his son up from jail over something he says was blown way out of proportion. "I don't' see how anybody would have an issue with a hunting rifle and NRA put on a t-shirt, especially when policy doesn't forbid it," Lardieri said.

The Logan County School District's dress code policy prohibits clothing that displays profanity, violence, discriminatory messages and more but nowhere in the document does it say anything about gun images.

"He did not violate any school policy," Lardieri reiterates. "He did not become aggressive."

* AND YET... HE WAS ARRESTED. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE AMERICA TO YOU, FOLKS? (WELL... YES... IT DOES SOUND LIKE AMERICA 2013... WHICH IS THE PROBLEM!)

Now, Lardieri says he's ready to fight until the situation is made right. "I will go to the ends of the earth, I will call people, I will write letters, I will do everything in the legal realm to make sure this does not happen again," Lardieri said.

* HE NEEDS TO SUE AND HE NEEDS TO WIN - FOR ALL OF US!

Logan City Police did confirm that Jared had been arrested and charged today.

* CHARGES SHOULD BE DROPPED AND THE OFFICER SUSPENDED PENDING A HEARING AND POSSIBLE DISMISSAL. AS FOR THE OFFICER'S SUPERIORS... EITHER THE OFFICER OVERSTEPPED HIS AUTHORITY OR ELSE THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH "MANAGEMENT" IN THAT POLICE DEPARTMENT.

13 news tried contacting the Logan County School District but has not heard anything back.

The FBI admitted Friday they interviewed the now-deceased Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev two years ago and failed to find any incriminating information about him.

* "ADMITTED...???"

Although the FBI initially denied contacting Tsarnaev, the brothers' mother said they had in an interview with Russia Today.

* "INITIALLY DENIED...???" AND ONLY AFTER THEY GET CAUGHT DO THEY "ADMIT"...!!! YOU'VE... GOTTA... BE... FUCKING... SHITTING... ME...!!!

As first reported by CBS News correspondent Bob Orr, the FBI interviewed Tsarnaev, the elder brother of at-large bombing suspect Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, at the request of a foreign government

* THE RUSSIANS WARNED US... AND THE FBI FUCKED UP.

...to see if Tsarnaev had any extremist ties, but failed to find any linkage.

* GREAT WORK, FUCKING FBI! OUTSTANDING!

(*MIDDLE FINGER POINTING TOWARDS WASHINGTON D.C.*)

This is an issue [the FBI has] had in the past. They interviewed Carlos Bledsoe in Little Rock, Ark., before he shot up an Army recruiting station in 2009. They were also "looking into" Major Hasan Nadal before the Fort Hood shootings.
