Yeah... kinda disappointed with Palin...
(*PURSED LIPS*)
(*SIGHING*)
But, frankly... I'm more perturbed by Matt Drudge's
behavior.
The headline - under a 5X7 photo of Cruz - reads, "PALIN
SLAMS CRUZ CAMPAIGN 'LIES'"
The clear inference is that Palin is calling Cruz a liar.
Well... not quite.
The link brings you to Palin's FB Page.
EXCERPTING PARAGRAPH ONE:
"Thank heavens Donald Trump opened so many eyes to
the lies, corruption and total lack of accountability that come so naturally to
the permanent political class. And Sen. Ted Cruz was spot on when he once noted
that "millions of Americans are asking for accountability and truth."
Which is why it's so curious - and saddens us - this lack of accountability
with the lies of Cruz's own campaign."
Notice... "...Cruz's own campaign."
Am I nit-picking? No. As I often note, context is
everything, folks, and what Drudge has highlighted isn't so much an attack upon
Cruz's personal honesty as it is the rough politics of a political campaign
where Palin is backing... Donald J. Trump.
(*SHRUG*)
Let's continue...
EXCERPTING PARAGRAPH TWO; SENTENCE ONE:
"Cruz's campaign chairman, U.S. Representative Steve
King, is lying, and good for Dr. Ben Carson for calling this out."
Yep. That's right. Palin's attack isn't against Cruz so
much as it's against Steve King. And... we're back to this nonsense about
Cruz's people latching on to the CNN "alert" of Iowa Caucus Day
itself inferring that Carson might be on his way out. (Funny... they totally
missed the fact that it was RAND PAUL who would soon be withdrawing!)
(*SNORT*)
Listen... I've provided the link... read Palin's full
post for yourselves. Nothing particularly newsworthy nor out of the ordinary in
regard to how candidates seeking the one and only actual nomination play hardball
with each other. As my good friend David Zornes often reminds me... "It's
a competition, Bill!"
(*CHUCKLE*)
So... I "get" Palin's angle. But what's
Drudge's?
