Intelligence officials have determined that Islamic extremists have explored using the refugee program to enter the United States, they told the head of the Homeland Security Committee.

* WELL, "DUH!"

An air strike carried out by the US-led coalition in Syria is reported to have targeted regime forces for the first time, killing at least three soldiers and destroying a number of vehicles.

* BY WHAT RIGHT DOES OBAM TAKE OUR COUNTRY TO WAR AGAINST SYRIA?

* DOES ASSAD NOW HAVE THE "RIGHT" TO COUNTER-ATTACK US?

* AND WHERE IS CONGRESS; WHERE IS RYAN, PELOSI, REID, AND MCCONNELL?

* AGAIN... FOLKS... THERE IS NO LONGER EVEN THE THIN VENEER OF CONSTITUTIONAL LEGITIMACY TO TODAY'S U.S. GOVERNMENT.

A Florida state senator proposes to impose a fine of up to $5,000 a day on officials of “sanctuary cities” who don’t follow federal immigration enforcement policies.

“In Florida, [sanctuary cities] enjoy sovereign immunity, meaning they’re shielded from being sued on any of their decisions in conducting their business,” state Sen. Aaron Bean, sponsor of the bill, told The Daily Signal. “The legislature, if this bill passed, would take away that, and [sanctuary cities] would be able to be held responsible in court for their actions.”

Bean, a Republican who previously served in the Florida House, represents all of Nassau County and part of Duval County.

As of October, Florida has seven “sanctuary counties,” all in the Tampa and Miami areas, according to the Center for Immigration Studies.

* GOOD FOR BEAN, BUT FRANKLY, I'D LIKE TO SEE LOCAL/COUNTY/MUNICIPLE OFFICIALS WHO KNOWINGLY AND DELIBERATELY CONSPIRE TO EVADE FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAW ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH WHATEVER CRIMINAL STATUTE SUCH ACTIONS FALL UNDER. (AND IF NEW CRIMINAL STATUTES NEED TO BE CREATED... THEN CREATE THEM!)

Our right to vote is one of the core foundations of the American republic.

Elections determine the future of towns and cities, states and the nation, and as such, every American must be able to say with confidence that electoral results are reliable and reflect the will of all eligible voters — and only eligible voters.

This is why ensuring the integrity of the electoral system is so important.

So long as elections are pathways to power and prestige, there will be those who would rather rig the vote than risk a loss. Vote fraudsters dilute honest votes and sometimes even change electoral outcomes.

The Heritage Foundation’s voter fraud database catalogs hundreds of cases from across the nation in which individuals were convicted of lying about their residency, casting fraudulent absentee ballots, or voting more than once in an attempt to alter the democratic will of the majority.
