I Simply Don't Buy It... (HRC Refuses VP Spot)

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was pressed by her husband and a top Obama aide to consider replacing Vice President Joe Biden just a couple of weeks ago, claims the author of the New York Times bestseller "The Amateur."

First of all... I don't believe that Bill Clinton wants Barack Obama re-elected.

(*SHRUG*)

I say this for two main reasons - one, selfishness... the other... love of country.

As to the first... there's simply no way in hell that Bill Clinton wants to see himself eclipsed by Barack Obama. It's ego. It's personal.

As to the second... I believe Bill Clinton loves America. Say what you will of his "personal" ethics... but I truly do believe that Bill Clinton loves America. He sees what Obama has done... is doing... and I have no doubt whatsoever that deep within himself... Bill Clinton knows that a second Obama term would indeed mark the irrevocably fundamental "change" of America from what Clinton himself recognizes as "his" America to an America fallen from its perch as the Greatest Republic the World Has Ever Known.

"As recently as a couple of weeks ago, the White House was putting out feelers to see if Hillary Clinton was interested in replacing Joe Biden on the ticket," Ed Klein told The Examiner's "Washington Secrets."

"Bill Clinton, I'm told, was urging his wife to accept the number two spot if it was formally offered. Bill sees the vice presidency as the perfect launching pad for Hillary to run for president in 2016." But Clinton, exhausted from four years of international travel and diplomacy, shrugged off the suggestion to lay the groundwork for her own 2016 bid with her husband at her side, according to author Ed Klein.

Oh, please... give me a friggin' break! "Too tired...?!?!" No. Preparing for "her own 2016 bid?" Jeezus, folks... think about it... what better "on deck" position could there possibly be for a 2016 "Candidate Clinton" than a four year stint as Vice President of the United States...?!?!

Frankly, folks... I can't believe that the Washington Examiner is giving this story (and I do mean "story") play!

Klein, whose book is No. 2 on the NYT bestseller list, quoted unnamed sources who revealed that top Obama aide Valerie Jarrett put the vice presidency on the table during a lunch with the secretary of state. "The lunch was ostensibly about policy issues, but the subject of the vice presidency came up," he said. "Hillary told Valerie Jarrett that she was not interested in running as Obama's vice president."

Now this I can believe! I mean... Obama would be a fool to retain Biden as his running mate if Hillary Rodham Clinton (with an obscenely high approval rating and obviously the complete and sincere support of the entire Clinton machine should she have accepted) were willing to join the ticket!

Jeezus... an Obama/Clinton ticket... as much as I hate to say this... they would be almost unbeatable.

Klein said she cited two reasons: If elected, she didn't want to be tied to Obama's left-leaning politics in her own 2016 bid. Second, if Obama loses, she would be tarred as a loser.

Oh, please! Again... nonsense! Absolute drivel!

No... even assuming (which would no doubt happen) that a second Obama term (with or without Clinton) would lead to further economic and foreign policy disasters, Clinton would simply claim that she stood with "The Commander-In-Chief" because she considered it her duty to the nation! Rather than be tarred with part of the blame, the Clinton machine and liberal media would provide all the cover necessary to convince American that where Obama did right... Clinton was there by his side... whereas when Obama failed... Hillary had been giving him "better advice" privately that Obama simply refused to follow... and... well... what could she do besides stand by him as his loyal Vice President.

New on Friday: Klein told Secrets that Bill Clinton is working fast to get a 2016 Hillary for President campaign up and going. His sources told him that Clinton is sniffing around for a major donor to offer up a jet for the potential candidate to use. Also, Klein said, Clinton is looking for somebody to take over the Clinton Global Initiative "so that he can devote his full time to Hillary's campaign."

Uh-huh. And if Romney-Ryan win and the economy improves (over a four year period!)... it's at that point - with a clear contrast having been made between the dismal and depressing Obama years (HRC as his SecState) vs. a potential (probable!) Romney-Ryan led American resurgence - that (in 2016) a 69-year-old Hillary Rodham Clinton will be more energized, more ready to wage a presidential campaign with no elective office base and then win the presidency?

Yeah...

Folks... this article... Klein's reporting... don't buy it. (I certainly don't!)

Indeed, folks... fear possible misdirection. Don't be surprised if all the stuff you've been hearing the last few days is just a smoke screen and behind the scenes the "play" is being written in which poor dimwitted Joe Biden is given early retirement and Hillary Rodham Clinton is brought on board to "pinch hit."

Folks... this is my nightmare.

Folks... never underestimate the gullibility and self-destructive impulses of many of the American People.

Oh... and folks... about Bill Clinton...

(*SIGH*)

Yep. I still believe everything I wrote about his "patriotism" up above... but if Hillary accepts... Bill Clinton will be a husband, father, and Democrat first... he'll rationalize to himself that as Vice President, Hillary will be able to "moderate" Obama's worst policies and in any event, he'll rationalize that as sitting Vice President (should an Obama-Clinton ticket win) Hillary would be the odds-on favorite to win her own term in 2016... at which point...

(*SHRUG*)

Well... you follow the logic - right?

Folks... just keep your fingers crossed that Obama isn't as smart as he's given credit for and that Hillary Rodham Clinton isn't as devious as she's credited with being.
