Barker's Newsbites: Monday, October, 22, 2012

Well, folks... tonight's the night - 9:00 p.m. - the last presidential debate.

This one's on foreign policy.

Right on cue the sad remnants of what used to be Newsweek Magazine - aka: The Daily Beast - have come out with "The Truth Behind the Benghazi Attack."

(*SNORT*)

Allow me to just skip to the ending paragraph of the three-page story:

Just one day after Obama’s speech in front of the Pentagon, [President Obama] stood in the Rose Garden at the White House. “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation,” he said. “We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.”

Ha! Ha! Ha! Nah... no attempt to buck up the President's tattered reputation there! Just... er... more... er... "straight journalism" of the... er... MSM variety.

(*LICKING MY LIPS*)

(*CHORTLE*)

Hey, folks... feel free to read the article. That's why I provide the link! Decide for yourself what the "editorial intent" is of this piece... what the authors' and editors' "might" have been attempting to accomplish via this piece... this piece that "just happens" to come out on the day of the presidential foreign policy debate.

Oh, jeez, folks... here's another pre-debate "buck up" message (er... I mean piece of "unbiased, straight journalism") from the New York Times!

Here... let me start at the beginning... first paragraph:

Even as Susan E. Rice took to the Sunday talk shows last month to describe the Obama administration’s assessment of the Sept. 11 attack on the American diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, intelligence analysts suspected that the explanation was outdated.

"Even as...?!?!"

"Suspected...?!?!"

Folks... com'on... the administration knew their "analysis" was bullshit from day one! They were privy to live, in real time drone footage! The foreign press was reporting the real story within 24 hours! (It's all captured right here at Usually Right... day by day "reporting"... as well as any googling you'd care to do!)

Folks... I'm not gonna belabor the same points raised time and time again from day one. At first the question was whether the administration was lying, or, whether they were simply incompetent. The answer has been in for weeks now - it's both!

Time and again everyone from the President himself on down the line to Hillary Rodham Clinton, Susan Rice, and various White House and State Department "spokespersons" have been caught red-handed trying to bullshit their way through this debacle.

Folks... the usual media tricks aren't gonna work anymore. Americans are wise to the game. Cindy Crowley's antics last week put paid to any assumption of media integrity Americans once held on to.

Still... beware... like a cornered animal the MSM is now especially dangerous. They're no longer playing for "the long haul." No. The gloves are off. "Appearances" no longer matter. The Mainstream Media will over the next weeks do everything in their power to muddy the waters of reality in such a way as to benefit their candidate, Barack Hussein Obama, and their party, the Democratic Party.

Stay "tuned" to Usually Right for the truth.

The 2012 presidential election is still more than two weeks away, but on Friday a CBS News affiliate in Arizona called the race for President Barack Obama.

(*SNORT*)

For 17 seconds, Phoenix, Arizona CBS News affiliate KPHO ran a lower third graphic that showed that Obama had won the Nov. 6 election over Gov. Mitt Romney with 99% of the precincts reporting. The lower third graphic appeared around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, during an episode of “The People’s Court.”

The CBS News graphic showed Obama winning the election with 43 percent of the vote nationwide to Romney’s 40 percent -– or 40,237,966 votes to 38,116,216. It is unclear who garnered the other 17 percent in the fictional election results.

(*TONGUE IN CHEEK*)

KPHO’s general manager did not return The Daily Caller’s request for comment by time of publication.

President Barack Obama isn't talking about it and neither is Mitt Romney. But come January, 163 million workers can expect to feel the pinch of a big tax increase regardless of who wins the election.

A temporary reduction in Social Security payroll taxes is due to expire at the end of the year...

* SEVERAL POINTS: 1) IT WASN'T SO TEMPORARY - IT WAS ACTUALLY REAPPLIED; 2) IF... AND I DO SAY "IF"... THESE IRRESPONSIBLE CLOWNS IN WASHINGTON ALLOW THE RATES TO GO BACK UP TO WHERE THEY WERE... WHERE THEY BELONG... THAT WOULDN'T BE A "TAX INCREASE," IT WOULD SIMPLY BE THE END OF AN IRRESPONSIBLE GIVEAWAY; 3) IF I HAVEN'T MADE MY FEELINGS CLEAR... I WAS OPPOSED TO THE WASTEFUL AND IRRESPONSIBLE GIMMICK IN THE FIRST PLACE... AND IN THE SECOND PLACE... AND PRAY IT ENDS AS SCHEDULED!

Even Republicans who have sworn off tax increases have little appetite to prevent one that will cost a typical worker about $1,000 a year, and two-earner family with six-figure incomes as much as $4,500.

* ER... FOLKS... WE'VE BEEN PAYING THAT $1,000/$4,500 FIGURE ALL ALONG - ONLY WE'VE BEEN "PAYING" IT IN THE FORM OF DEBT... AT INTEREST... TAKEN ON IN OUR NAMES THAT REQUIRES REPAYMENT... AT INTEREST... DOWN THE LINE.

* SEE, FOLKS... I'D LIKE TO LITERALLY CUT OFF THE HEAD (WITH A DULL LETTER OPENER) OF THE EDITOR WHO APPROVED THIS BULLSHIT STORY ABSENT THE SORT OF FACTUAL INTERJECTIONS I'M MAKING HERE. THIS IS WHY WE'RE FUCKED! NO ONE WANTS TO TELL AMERICANS THE TRUTH!

Before he was named as Romney's running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., disparaged the payroll tax cut, calling it "sugar-high economics" that wouldn't promote long-term growth.

(*SINCERE CLAP-CLAP-CLAP*)

* YES! HE DID!

Romney's tax plan would let the payroll tax cut expire...

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California said she, too, wants to let the tax cut expire.

* GOOD! LET'S FRIGGIN' HOPE SHE MAINTAINS THAT POSITION WHEN IT'S TIME TO VOTE! (NOTE: SHE WAS A HUGE BACKER OF THE SCAM IN THE FIRST PLACE!)

Obama pushed for the tax cut in late 2010...

* YES... YES, WE KNOW...

The initial tax cut was for only a year, and many Republicans in Congress wanted to let it lapse at the end of 2011. But Obama and Democratic lawmakers successfully fought to extend it through 2012.

* FOLKS... AGAIN... WHATEVER "PARTISANSHIP" COMES THROUGH WITH MY COMMENTARY... IT'S BASED UPON FACTS SUCH AS THE ABOVE TWO SENTENCES!

White House spokeswoman Amy Brundage wouldn't rule out an extension but wouldn't commit to one, either.

"The president fought extremely hard last year in the face of Republican opposition to ensure that the payroll tax cut was extended," Brundage said. "There are a number of tax issues that Congress will have to deal with at the end of the year, this being one of them, and we will continue to evaluate all of the options available to us at that time."
