Barker's Newsbites: Wednesday, October 3, 2012
Well, folks, I'm a bit distracted making final arrangements for the upcoming Texas trip, but, yeah... (*SMILE*)... I've "heard something" about a presidential debate tonight.
Who's gonna "win?"
Haven't got the slightest...
Who's gonna be credited with a "win?"
Again... haven't got the slightest.
(The media could go either way... I'll give you my reaction after the fact.)
Do I hold out great hope for Romney? Nope. Sadly... no. Does this mean I expect him to get his butt kicked? Nope. (Heck... he could win big... but he could lose big, too... I just have no confidence in the guy.)
Here's what I do know: The debate will be largely a battle of talking points and damn the truth.
The media won't hold Obama to account for his lies... and while they'll smack Romney around a bit, if Romney gets crucified either during or after the debate... it'll be his own fault, I'm guessing.
Listen... Romney is running a lousy campaign so far. At least that's how I see it from my vantage point here in New York.
The Republican Party sucks. They truly are the Stupid Party. Obama should be down by 10 points... and yet... he's not.
Does all this pessimism mean I believe Obama is destined to win in November? No. Surprisingly (to some of you, no doubt) I still believe that Romney will win... and that he may indeed win big!
Because Obama is so bad... so bad...
Yep. In the end, folks, I've gotta hold out hope that when push comes to shove, a majority of the American People (and more important... a majority of the electoral vote) won't sign on to another four years of guaranteed American decline.
Not that we won't have major problems if Romney wins - we will - but as bad as Romney is... he's by far the better man and better American than Obama.
Anyway... on to newsbites!
