Weekend Newsbites: Sat. & Sun., Jan. 7 & 8, 2012
I Am Frigg'n Amazing...
OK. Slept in. Got up a bit before 10:00 a.m.
10:15 a.m. - Raspberry lite (no fat) yogurt with about a two-thirds of a cup of cereal mixed in... 200 calories.
Outstanding workout at the gym! Cycled 13 miles; burned 500 calories!
12:45 p.m. - Five strips of turkey bacon on two slices of toasted whole grain oat bread (going real light on the mayo... real light!) with maybe an ounce of cheese and plenty of lettuce; oh... plus a dill pickle.
3:00 p.m. - Gonna have a grapefruit before heading out for the afternoon!

Call the rest of the day my "cheat" day:
Carl, Antoinette, and the girls came over. One beer. One piece of bread with butter. A little antipasti. Two glasses of red wine. Two slices of pizza (eggplant rollatini pizza with sausage and extra cheese to be precise), a snifter of (fine, fine, fine Spanish) brandy, and a slice of panettoni cakes.
Woke up with Pink Eye. Luckily I have a personal physician on call 24/7/365.
He called in the script to my nearest Rite-Aide. Ten minutes later they call me up to tell me that neither they nor the other Rite-Aide in town have common anti-biotic neosporin eye-drops in stock, but, their Chester stores does so Mary will hump up there to pick up my prescription.
(Nah... America's not falling apart.. no... why should I be able to get a common medicine easily within an hour of Manhattan...)

10:30 a.m. - Half a cup of Special K mixed into a light yogurt (less than 200 calories total).
1:30 p.m. - A cup of 2% cottage cheese.
4:30 - A third of a cup of turkey chili with a half ounce of cheddar cheese and a teaspoon of light sour cream.
7:30 p.m. - One slice of leftover pizza. (Of course I jazzed it up with extra cheese, pepperoni, and peppercini... but bottom line... one slice!)
8:15 p.m. - One all fruit ice pop (110 calories).
9:15 p.m. - One small slice of panettoni cake and a glass of 1% milk.
10:45 p.m. - One small grapefruit.
Obviously no gym today, what with the Pink Eye and all. In any case, it's probably best that I emulate God and take one day out of the week for rest.
