Barker's Newsbites: Friday, January 6, 2012

I wonder if they even teach this in schools today... and if they do... who they identify as the good guys.

And now... breakfast!

9:15 a.m. - Two-egg omelet with quarter cup of mushrooms, two slices of ham, and maybe an ounce of cheese. (Used my new italian spice grinder for the first time!)

To be continued...

Long day. Had an airport run. Then met a friend for lunch in Nyack:

2:00 p.m. - Small Caesar Salad and 5 Jumbo Cajun Broiled Shrimp with some blue cheese dipping sauce along with carrot and celery slices. (I drank water while my buddy had a beer; how's that for serious will-power?!)

4:15 p.m. - One banana.

Gym! Another 12 miles... another 400 calories burned! (Got my time down to 55 minutes!)

6:45 p.m. - Toasted chick peas.

To be continued...

7:45 p.m. - Whole wheat spaghetti with steamed broccoli and peperoni in an Italian herb cream sauce with fresh ground Italian spices. (Very, very yummy by the way!)

8:45 p.m. - 47 calorie ice pop.

9:00 p.m. - Three fruit & nut nugget candies... 140 calories total.

And that's a wrap, folks!

* READ THE PIECE AND THEN COME BACK TO MY "BARKERIZATION."

* FROM PARAGRAPH 6:

The separate household survey, from which the jobless rate is derived, showed gains in employment and a modest decline in the labor force, helping to lower the jobless rate.

* READ THAT AGAIN, FOLKS...

The separate household survey, from which the jobless rate is derived, showed gains in employment and a modest decline in the labor force, helping to lower the jobless rate.

* DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU JUST READ? LET ME LAY IT OUT - IDENTIFY THE KEY LINE:

"...gains in employment and a modest decline in the labor force..."

* HUH...?!?! (YEAH, FOLKS... "HUH!")

* TO USE A MEDICAL ANALOGY: THE BLEEDING HAS SLOWED... BECAUSE THE PATIENT'S HEART HAS SLOWED BECAUSE HE'S BLEEDING OUT!

* THERE IS ONE BRIGHT SPOT HOWEVER:

Government employment contracted 12,000.
