All three networks on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning ignored the violent assaults by union protesters in Michigan...

* LISTEN... YOU KNOW.... THERE'S SIMPLY NO DOUBT... THAT HAD THESE BEEN TEA PARTY ACTIVISTS INSTEAD OF UNION THUGS...

(*SHRUG*)

Over on Tuesday's CBS Evening News, Elaine Quijano vaguely explained, "Union members from across Michigan and other states voiced their anger at the Michigan capital."

Yet, she made no mention of the assault on Crowder or the destruction of the Americans for Prosperity tent outside the Capitol.

On NBC's Nightly News, Brian Williams also ignored the actual violence. Instead, he worried, "The emotional fight over unions and American jobs in a place many thought it could never happen. Are we looking at a turning point for American workers?"

Rather than focus on the thug-like attacks that occurred, Williams reminisced about the importance of the unions: "A union job in the Detroit auto industry was a ticket to the American middle class, a good salary, benefits package, a piece of the American dream, a two-car garage and college education for the kids."

Despite being a four hour program, NBC's Today allowed two news briefs, a scant 28 seconds. Following the pattern, Natalie Morales skipped the violence. Good Morning America totally avoided the subject. CBS This Morning only mentioned it while playing a mocking clip of liberal comic Jon Stewart.

(*SMIRK*)

World News reporter Alex Perez put the focus not on out of control violence, but on the fact that Michigan's right-to-work bill actually passed.

* TWO-PARTER... (Part 1 of 2)

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_SENATE_INTERN_ARRESTED?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2012-12-12-14-18-16

Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) employed as an unpaid intern in his Senate office - an illegal immigrant who was a registered sex offender.

[The individual is] now under arrest by immigration authorities, The Associated Press has learned.

* OH... BUT WAIT... MAKE SURE YOU'RE SITTING DOWN FOR THIS NEXT PART...

The Homeland Security Department instructed federal agents not to arrest him until after Election Day, a U.S. official involved in the case told the AP.

* OH... BUT THERE'S MORE!

Authorities in Hudson County notified ICE agents in early October that they suspected Sanchez was an illegal immigrant who was a registered sex offender and who may be eligible to be deported. ICE agents in New Jersey notified superiors at the Homeland Security Department because they considered it a potentially high profile arrest, and DHS instructed them not to arrest Sanchez until after the November election, one U.S. official told the AP. ICE officials complained that the delay was inappropriate, but DHS directed them several times not to act, the official said.

(*MIGRAINE HEADACHE*)

Luis Abrahan Sanchez Zavaleta, an 18-year-old immigrant from Peru, was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in front of his home in New Jersey on Dec. 6, two federal officials said. Sanchez, who entered the country on a now-expired visitor visa from Peru, is facing deportation and remains in custody. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss details of Sanchez's immigration case.

* 1) HE'S NOT AN "IMMIGRANT." HE HAD A VISA. A VISA IS A TEMPORARY APRROVAL FOR A VISIT - NOT AN IMMIGRATION STATUS DOCUMENT.

* 2) CONGRESSIONAL STAFF - INCLUDING INTERNS - ARE ISSUED I.D. HOW WAS ZAVALETA ISSUED AN I.D.? HOW CAN A FOREIGNER WITH AN EXPIRED VISA BE ALLOWED TO RETAIN OFFICIAL SENATE STAFF CREDENTIALS?

A spokesman for the Homeland Security Department, Peter Boogaard, said in an email to the AP that ICE followed standard procedures working with local prosecutors before taking what he called "appropriate enforcement action." Boogard also said AP's report was "categorically false." He did not immediately respond to a request to specify what might be false.

* IT'S STANDARD PROCEDURE TO ALLOW FOREIGNERS WITH EXPIRED VISAS TO MAINTAIN AN OFFICIAL PRESENSE AS A SENATE STAFF INTERN ONCE THE AUTHORITIES ARE AWARE OF THE SITUATION UNTIL... er... AFTER ELECTIONS...???

The senator said his staff asks interns whether they are in the country legally but cannot check to be sure.

* BUT... CANNOT... CHECK... TO... BE... SURE...?!?!

* TO BE CONTINUED...

* CONCLUDING... (Part 2 of 2)

"We certainly wouldn't have known through any background checks since he is a minor about any sex offender status," Menendez said in an interview Wednesday with MSNBC. "Once it came to our attention, our New Jersey staff director let the young man go."

* LET... THE... YOUNG... MAN... GO...?!?!

* WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE SEX OFFENDER HERE IN THE COUNTRY ILLEGALLY... THE ONE MENENDEZ HIRED AS AN INTERN... RIGHT...???

(*JUST...SHAKING...MY...HEAD*)

* OH... FOLKS... AND HERE'S HOW THE AP FINISHES UP THE STORY... TACKING THESE LAST TWO PARAGRAHS TO THE END OF THEIR 15 PARAGRAPH STORY:

During the final weeks of President George W. Bush's administration, ICE was criticized for delaying the arrest of President Barack Obama's aunt, who had ignored an immigration judge's order to leave the country several years earlier after her asylum claim was denied. She subsequently won the right to stay in the United States after an earlier deportation order, and there was no evidence of involvement by the White House.

* YEAH... LIKE THERE'S NO EVIDENCE AL CAPONE WAS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A TAX CHEAT... (*SNORT*)

In that case, the Homeland Security Department had imposed an unusual directive days before the 2008 election requiring high-level approval before federal agents nationwide could arrest fugitive immigrants...

* F*U*G*I*T*I*V*E ALIENS... (ALIENS! NOT "IMMIGRANTS!")

...including Zeituni Onyango, the half-sister of Obama's late father. The directive from ICE expressed concerns about "negative media or congressional interest," according to a copy of that directive obtained by AP. The department lifted the immigration order weeks later.
