Thoughts for a Wednesday Wind Down...

Well, folks... the update on Sammie is...

(*DRUM ROLL*)

...she's getting a new engine.

Yep.

Two years old... 41K... the engine blew.

Why? How? They don't know - either that or they're just not saying.

In any case... Sammie's a Hyundai... under warranty... so we're looking at this as an annoyance and not a friggin' disaster.

(*SHRUG*)

In the meantime they gave Mary a loaner... so...

(*ANOTHER SHRUG*)

Thanks to those of you who acknowledged my birthday yesterday by phone, email, or FBM. Nothing too exciting. Had two runs yesterday, one of which was for "He Whose Name Dare Not Be Mentioned." A good friend, "He" came out of the airport terminal with gift in hand... then on top of that insisted upon stopping at the store on the way home for beer - where "He" was kind enough not only to buy some beer for birthday toasting, but also a $20 four-pack of Delirium Tremens as a "Just for the Hell of It" gift!

Yes, folks... I know how to pick friends - do I not...?!?!

(*HUGE FRIGGIN' GRIN*)

So... I was able to get some newsbiting done yesterday. None today though. (I had a morning ride and then had to get new rear brakes for Hank and then had to go food shopping...)

Just some general thoughts:

If there are those among you... among my regular readers and followers (yeah... I have five followers!) who don't get that we have some very bad men and women running this country, then, seriously, you're wasting your time by reading this blog.

Hillary Clinton is a terrible person. Eric Holder is a terrible person. Barrack Obama is... a terrible person.

Richard Nixon had many faults. Nixon however was able to feel shame... and to ultimately respond to it via his resignation from office.

Throughout our nation's history, all sorts of politicians from all parties and all ideologies have acted reprehensibly at times. Human nature is what it is and power tends to corrupt. But, folks... this administration is corrupt to the bone. They've corrupted the IRS. They've corrupted the Secret Service. They've corrupted the military, the State Department, our national intelligence infrastructure...

(*JUST SHAKING MY HEAD*)

Browse through the pages of this blog covering "The Age of Obama." The scandals, the cover-ups, the sheer level of incompetence...

(*GRITTING MY TEETH*)

Yes, folks... beyond the corruption there's a level of incompetence and counterproductive policymaking which we haven't seen since the days of Jimmy Carter. Indeed, truth be told, Carter was a more effective president than Obama! And certainly - for all him many faults - Carter didn't tolerate corruption - remember Bert Lance?

Folks... how much more can the country take without the precedents being set hardening into stone as "The New Normal?"

Think about it, folks... we already have a "New Normal" when it comes to the American Economy... do we really want an ethical "New Normal" set by this administration and people like Eric Holder, Janet Napolitano, Hillary Clinton, and their circle?

I say "no." I hope and pray the average American wakes up, recognizes what's happening and what's at stake... and joins me in saying "no."
