Barker's Newsbites: Tuesday, March 13, 2012

So let's think about this...

Forty-one percent of the American People supposedly think President Obama is... er... doing a good job...???

What would it take to get his approval rating down to "only a third" - YouTube videos of the man meeting with his Chinese handlers while in the background Michelle is caught on video torturing puppies?!

Big frigg'n deal... Obama's disapproval rating is 47%.

For Christ's sake, people, in any sane world it would be in the high 70's... perhaps the 80's!

Beware the mainstream media, my friends. Understand that this year is make or break for them and they'll be pulling out all the stops to get Obama re-elected.

Let us pray that Newt wins both Alabama and Mississippi today.

Only Newt can be counted upon to crush Obama in debates and deflect the mainstream media's fire back upon them.

Pray for our country, people. This year marks what may well be the point of no return for America. If we can't get Obama and Holder out of office...

(*JUST SHAKING MY HEAD*)

(*LONG, DEEP SIGH*)

* A COLUMN YOU SHOULD READ.

Factcheck.org says it’s “just false” to deny that the stimulus has created jobs.

(*SNORT*) READ ON... YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THE CIRCULAR REASONING!

It cites the Congressional Budget Office’s estimate that the stimulus had saved or created millions of jobs.

But...

* BUT...

...the CBO, as its director has explained, hasn’t really checked the effect of the stimulus. It has merely reported what the results of additional federal spending and tax credits would be if you assume that spending and tax credits are stimulative.

In other words: If you assume that stimulus works, it must have worked.

(*LAUGHING MY ASS OFF*)

This circularity doesn’t bother PolitiFact, a group that seeks to elevate the tone of our political debates but usually lowers it. Relying on the CBO and other groups that use similar methods, it says people who deny the effectiveness of the stimulus have their “pants on fire.”

(*SNORT*)

* FOLKS... IN ALL SERIOUSNESS... THIS IS EXACTLY THE KIND OF THING I'M TALKING ABOUT WHEN I WARN ABOUT HOW THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA WILL BE PULLING OUT ALL THE STOPS THIS YEAR IN ORDER TO DO ALL WITHIN THEIR POWER TO ENSURE THE RE-ELECTION OF "THE ONE."

Every effort to find systemic bias in the criminal justice system has failed.

The black incarceration rate reflects elevated rates of crime commission.

* PERIOD!

Drug convictions are not driving the disproportionate black incarceration rate; violence is.

The majority of black state prisoners are serving time for violence - 54% in 2008, compared to only 22% for drug crimes.

* THE STATS DON'T LIE, FOLKS.

The national homicide rate for males between the ages of 14 and 25 was nearly 10 times higher for blacks than for whites and Hispanics combined in 2006.

In New York City, blacks committed 80% of all shootings in 2009, though they were only 23% of the city’s population.

* IN CONTRAST...

Whites committed 1.4% of all shootings, though they were 35% of the population.

(Such ratios recur throughout American cities.)

(*SIGH*) (*PURSED LIPS*)

If all drug offenders had been removed from state prisons (which house 88% of the nation’s prisoners) in 2006, the proportion of black prisoners would have dropped from 37.5% to...

(*DRUM ROLL*)

...37%.

(*SIGH*)

The most powerful antidote to this violence would be to ensure that more black children were raised by both their father and their mother.

* REPEAT:

The most powerful antidote to this violence would be to ensure that more black children were raised by both their father and their mother.

(*NOD*)

No other ethnic or racial group suffers from family breakdown to the same degree: 73% of black children were born to unwed mothers in 2009.

* REPEAT:

Seventy-three percent (73%) of black children were born to unwed mothers in 2009.

While many heroic single mothers raise stable, high-achieving children in the face of huge challenges, the odds are against them. As any urban teacher will recount, black boys in particular bring enormous anger to school with them and disproportionately act out against authority. Higher discipline rates for black students reflect this reality.

* REPEAT:

Higher discipline rates for black students reflect this reality.

* NOT PREJUDICE... NOT DISCRIMINATION... "DISPROPORTIONATE ACTING OUT."

Public policy’s ability to change so complicated a problem as the decline of marriage is obviously limited; the place to start, however, is with public rhetoric.

The same energy and resources that have been brought to the campaign to stigmatize smoking should be directed to a campaign to valorize fathers.

The most powerful advantage that mothers can give their children is their father, the message should be.

President Obama's national health care law will cost $1.76 trillion over a decade, according to a new projection released today by the Congressional Budget Office, rather than the $940 billion forecast when it was signed into law.

(*SMIRK*)

* NEED I ADD ANYTHING?

(*JUST SHAKING MY HEAD*)

Democrats employed many accounting tricks when they were pushing through the national health care legislation, the most egregious of which was to delay full implementation of the law until 2014, so it would appear cheaper under the CBO's standard ten-year budget window and, at least on paper, meet Obama's pledge that the legislation would cost "around $900 billion over 10 years." When the final CBO score came out before passage, critics noted that the true 10 year cost would be far higher than advertised once projections accounted for full implementation.

Today, the CBO released new projections from 2013 extending through 2022, and the results are as critics expected: the ten-year cost of the law's core provisions to expand health insurance coverage has now ballooned to $1.76 trillion.

* THIS IS THE PIECE OF SHIT THAT APPARENTLY 41% OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE BELIEVE IS DOING A BANG-UP JOB!

* FOLKS... YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS SHIT UP! IF OBAMA HAD DONE THIS AS THE HEAD OF A PRIVATE CORPORATION HE'D BE IN JAIL RIGHT NOW!
