Barker's Newsbites: Tuesday, November 25, 2014

Well... slept in this morning. Turned on the tube a bit before 10 a.m. to find Glenn Beck NOT discussing Furguson... the network channels providing their REGULAR programing... and both Fox News and CNN reporting NON-Furguson news.

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/11/24/Robert-Rector-Amnestied-Illegal-Immigrants-to-Cost-Taxpayers-2-Trillion-Over-Their-Lifetime

* OBAMA'S AMNESTY...

“The net cost — which is total benefits minus total benefits paid in — of the amnesty recipients I estimate will be around $2 trillion over the course of their lifetime,” Rector explained in an interview with Breitbart News Monday. He added that the calculation is based on the assumption that 4 million undocumented immigrants will participate and they will live, on average, 50 years.

“What [Obama] is doing is he is putting these 4 million people — who on average have a 10th grade education — into the Social Security and Medicare programs,” Rector said. He used much of the same methodology he incorporated in his May 2013 study on the cost of amnesty to reach his conclusions.

* SEE: http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2013/05/the-fiscal-cost-of-unlawful-immigrants-and-amnesty%20to-the-us-taxpayer

With the expected earnings for an individual with that level of education, he explained that the amnestied immigrants will take vastly more out than they will contribute to those programs.

* DUH...

“Given their expected earnings, from someone that has a 10th grade education, they will draw about three dollars worth of benefits out of those programs over their lifetimes for every dollar they put into them. (The overall cost in outlays will be around a trillion dollars for those programs alone,” Rector explained.)

* REGARDING "MEANS TESTED" WELFARE...

While undocumented immigrants are not eligible for welfare dollars [today], Rector says he expects that within about a dozen years - either through legislation or [further unconstitutional] executive action the amnestied immigrants will be able to access welfare programs.

* DUH! (AND DON'T FORGET COURT RULINGS! LIBERAL COURT RULINGS!)

As a stop-gap — should there be no legislation or executive action granting the amnestied illegal immigrants welfare access — Rector noted that once the citizen children of amnestied immigrants hit age 21 they could be able to petition to have their parents obtain green cards without leaving the country.

(*SNORT*)

“After 5 years with a green card status they are eligible for all the welfare programs,” he added.

* FOLKS... DON'T YOU SEE... IS CONNECTING THE DOTS SO FRIGGIN' HARD...

(*JUST SHAKING MY HEAD*)

Once the amnestied undocumented immigrants are able to access welfare, he argued, that will be another trillion dollars in means-tested welfare over the course of their lifetime — on top of the trillion dollars in Social Security and Medicare.

“Even if they are waiting 10 or 12 years to get access to these programs, that is still a trillion dollar cost once they begin to get into them,” Rector said.

(*PURSED LIPS*)

The Heritage expert explained that on average in the U.S., households headed by an individual without a high school diploma take in about $50,000 in federal, state, and local government benefits.

“The bottom line to understand this is you are taking 4 million people with a 10th grade education and giving them access to the largest entitlement and welfare system in the globe,” he said.

http://www.mrctv.org/blog/watch-president-obama-fumble-easy-question-precedent

President Obama completely fumbles when George Stephanopolous asks him how he’d respond if a future president takes the same action on taxes that Obama has taken on immigration.

* VIDEO ATTACHED TO LINK

Incredibly, Obama responds as if he’d never heard or thought of this argument before, stumbling blindly along immigration talking points without answering the actual question.

Stephanopolous asked: “How do you respond to the argument, "a future president comes in and wants lower taxes. Doesn’t happen. Congress won’t do it; so he says ‘I’m not going to prosecute those who don’t pay capital gains tax.’”

“The truth of the matter is George,” said the President, haltingly, “The reason that we, have to do.. uhm prosecutorial discretion in immigration, is that we know, that we – are not even close to being able to deal with the folks who have been here a long time…” Obama then pivoted to immigration talking points, without addressing the original question.

* AND THIS BOZO WAS RE-ELECTED. RE-ELECTED!

“The vast majority of folks understand that they need to pay taxes, and when we conduct an audit, for example, we are selecting those folks who are most likely to be cheating,” said Obama. “We’re not going after millions and millions of people who everybody knows are here and were taking advantage of low wages as they’re mowing lawns or cleaning out bedpans, and looking the other way.”

“So you don’t think it’d be legitimate for a future president to make that argument?” Stephanopoulos said.

Obama: “With respect to taxes? Absolutely not.”

The question, which has been floating around the internet since Obama gave his immigration speech, deserves an answer, but the President would prefer to punt it seems.

* FOLKS... COME UP WITH ANY OF YOUR OWN QUESTIONS! IT'S NOT EVEN DEBATABLE WHETHER OR NOT OBAMA'S EXECUTIVE ORDER IS AN ILLEGAL ONE; IT SIMPLY IS!

* COME JANUARY... BOTH HOUSES OF CONGRESS MUST DECLARE IT SO...

http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/225236-stupidity-consultant-agrees-to-testify

Jonathan Gruber, the former ObamaCare adviser in hot water for his comments about the “stupidity of the American voter,” has agreed to testify at a House panel next month, setting up a healthcare showdown in what could be the final week of this Congress.

* HAS "AGREED...???" FUNNY... I WAS UNAWARE HE HAD A CHOICE; ULTIMATELY HE'D NO DOUBT FACE A SUBPOENA!

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will also hear from Obama administration official Marilyn Tavenner, who is under fire this week for using inflated enrollment figures for the healthcare law.

* YA GOTTA LUV IT... "FOR USING INFLATED ENROLLMENT FIGURES." NOT EVEN "FALSE" - LET ALONE "LIED." AND THIS KINDS CRAP IS PRETTY MUCH ACROSS THE BOARD WHEN IT COMES TO TODAY'S "JOURNALISTS."

“Both Mr. Gruber and Administrator Tavenner have agreed to testify,” committee spokeswoman Caitlin Carroll told The Hill.

Both figures have played a role in major political headaches for the Obama administration...

* "POLITICAL HEADACHES FOR THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION." NOT "MALFEASANCE IN OFFICE." NOT "BETRAYING THE TRUST OF THEIR POSITIONS." NOT EVEN "SHEER INCOMPETENCE."

(*SNORT*)

...which is facing new allegations of “repeated transparency failures and outright deceptions” from Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.).

* OH... BY WITH A REPUBLICAN IT'S "ALLEGATIONS."

(*SNICKER*)

Gruber, an economist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will be grilled for a number of speeches he has given since 2010 that blame the Obama administration for intentionally obscuring details of the healthcare law in order to assure its passage.

* "BLAMING" THEM? WHO CARES IF HE "BLAMES" OR "APPLAUDS" THE LIES... THE... er... "INTENTIONAL OBSCURING"...

* AREN'T WE KINDA BURYING THE LEAD HERE? SHOULDN'T IT BE "GRUBER HAS PUBLICLY STATED THAT PRESIDENT OBAMA KNEW HE WAS LYING TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE... NOT TO MENTION CONGRESS"?

Tavenner, who leads the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), has taken flak after an investigation by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee revealed last week that ObamaCare enrollment figures had been inflated by nearly 400,000.

* ...NEARLY 400,000

The administration has been quick to acknowledge that the misreported enrollment count was a mistake, and has defended Tavenner. But hardly any Democrats have stood beside Gruber.

* "QUICK TO ACKNOWLEDGE?" THEY ACKNOWLEDGE IT AFTER... THE... FACT...! AFTER THEY GOT CAUGHT!

* AS TO THIS BEING A "MISTAKE..." (DOES ANYONE BUY IT? ANYONE? ANYONE AT ALL...?!?!)
