Barker's Newsbites: Friday, October 24, 2014

*  *  *  *  *  *

When this writer was 3 years old, the Empire of Japan devastated Battleship Row of the U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor.

Before I was 7, Gen. MacArthur was in an office in Tokyo overlooking the Imperial Palace, dictating to a shattered Japan.

* MY... FATHER'S... AMERICA...

* MY UNCLES' AMERICA...

* THE AMERICA I WAS BROUGHT UP TO LOVE AND REVERE - WITH DAMN GOOD REASON!

In 1956, President Eisenhower, impressed by the autobahn he had seen in Hitler’s Reich, ordered a U.S. Interstate Highway System constructed, tying America together, one of the great public works projects in all history.

Within a decade, the system was on its way to completion.

* I'VE SPOKEN TO MEN WHO WORKED ON THE NYS THRUWAY. WHAT THEY DID IN A DAY WOULD NOWADAYS TAKE...

(*SHRUG*)

In 1961, John F. Kennedy said the United States, beaten into space by Nikita Khrushchev’s Soviet Union, would put a man on the moon and return him to earth within the decade.

In July 1969, President Nixon, on the deck of the carrier Hornet, welcomed home Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins of Apollo 11.

* TODAY AMERICANS WAIT FOR THE THE IPHONE 7... OR IS IT IPHONE 8?

What ever became of that America? What ever became of that can-do nation? What has happened to us?

(*PURSED LIPS*)

This October saw the vaunted Center for Disease Control and Prevention fumbling over basic questions on how to protect Americans from an Ebola epidemic in three small countries of West Africa.

In September, an intruder with a knife climbed the White House fence, trotted across the North lawn, walked through the unlocked front door of the president’s house, barreled over a female officer, and ran around the East Room before being tackled by a Secret Service agent going off duty. The president had just departed.

Days earlier, an armed security guard in Atlanta with a violent criminal past was allowed by Secret Service to ride an elevator with Barack Obama.

(*SIGH*)

Last summer came reports that 60,000 children and young people from Central America had walked across the border into the United States, overwhelming our Border Patrol.

Last spring, we learned that sick and suffering vets were deliberately made to wait months for appointments to see VA doctors, and dozens may have died during the wait.

Earlier, the rollout of ObamaCare - years in preparation - became a national joke and a metaphor for government incompetence.

Under President Bush came Katrina, where 30,000 residents of New Orleans were stranded for days behind a pool of stagnant water after a hurricane. The city and state couldn’t handle it.

* THE "CHOCOLATE" CITY WITH A CORRUPT DEMOCRAT MAYOR COULDN'T HANDLE IT...

* THE THEN-DEMOCRAT GOVERNOR OF LOUISIANA COULDN'T HANDLE IT...

* THE LIBERAL MEDIA NEVERTHELESS BLAMED PRESIDENT BUSH - AND BUSH BEING BUSH LARGELY "ACCEPTED" THE BLAME VIA REFUSING TO DEFEND HIMSELF AND PLACE THE BLAME WHERE IT BELONGED.

Yet, during five days in 1940, 350,000 British troops, besieged at Dunkirk, were rescued from across the Channel by their countrymen in boats and yachts under the guns of the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe.

* WHO THE PEOPLE ARE MATTERS... (LIKE IT OR NOT...)

Such events have contributed to a collapse of confidence among Americans in the competency of their leaders and their government.

Large majorities now believe America is heading downhill, that the future will not be as good as the past, that we are going in the wrong direction.

* WE ARE. (THEY'RE RIGHT!)

Malaise pervades the republic.

And there are larger reasons for these sentiments:

Our recent wars, in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, all seem to have left them and us worse off.

In fighting our new war in Iraq and Syria we have neither a credible strategy nor sufficient troops to prevail against the Islamic State.

Already, Americans are asking: Why is this our war?

Since the mid-1970s, the real wages of working Americans have stagnated as we have run uninterrupted trade deficits totaling more than $10 trillion.

(Under Obama the national debt has surpassed the Gross Domestic Product.)

Our manufacturing base has been hollowed out with Detroit as Exhibit A. We outsource our future by borrowing from China to buy from China.

(We borrow from Japan and Europe to defend Japan and Europe, though World War II has been over for 70 years.)

FedEx tracks with precision millions of packages a day. But the U.S. government cannot locate and send back 12 million illegal aliens.

(*SNICKER*)

Thirty years after a Reagan amnesty that carried a commitment to secure our borders, Obama is preparing an executive amnesty for untold millions of illegals... as soon as the election is over! And still the borders are not secure.

If government is conceded a role in anything, it is in building roads, bridges, highways and airports, and in running public schools. Yet our infrastructure is crumbling.

U.S. children fall lower and lower in international competition, and the racial divide in academic performances has never closed, despite an investment of trillions in education over half a century.

Even Joe Biden calls LaGuardia a “Third World” airport.

Many private institutions are succeeding splendidly. But our public institutions, save the military, seem to be broadly failing.

* DON'T FOOL YOURSELVES - THE MILITARY IS FAILING AS WELL. CERTAINLY THE TOP BRASS HAS BEEN CO-OPTED. (THINK "GEN. BETRAYUS.")

Congress is gridlocked. The president is seen as a dithering incompetent. The Supreme Court is polarized irreparably.

* NOT SIMPLY POLARIZED. ONLY THREE MEMBERS CAN BE REASONABLE COUNTED UPON TO BASE THEIR RULINGS UPON THE CONSTITUTION! (THOMAS, SCALIA, AND ALITO.)

Our political, racial and cultural clashes, traceable to conflicts created by the revolutions of the 1960s, are daily magnified and exacerbated by cable TV, the Internet and social media.

* DID SOMEONE SAY "FURGUSON, MO.?"

“Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,” wrote the poet Yeats.

Clare Luce put is another way. In this world, she said, there are two kinds of people — optimists and pessimists. “The pessimists are better informed.”

* YEP...

* BUT, FOLKS... ALL IT TAKES IS LITERACY! LITERACY AND THE WILLINGNESS TO SPEND TEN OR TWENTY MINUTES A DAY READING MY NEWSBITES AND STAND-ALONE POSTS!

* TELL YOUR FRIENDS... SPREAD THE WORD...

http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2014/10/valerie-jarrett-key-player-fast-furious-cover-holder-lied-congress/

President Obama’s trusted senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett, was a key player in the effort to cover-up that Attorney General Eric Holder lied to Congress about the Fast and Furious scandal, according to public records obtained by Judicial Watch.

The information is part of a Department of Justice (DOJ) “Vaughn index” detailing records about the gun-running operation known as Fast and Furious. JW had to sue the agency for the records after the Obama administration failed to provide them under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). A federal court ordered the DOJ to provide the records over the agency’s objections. Yesterday JW reported on the broad information in the records, including that Obama asserted executive privilege for Holder’s wife as part of the administration’s efforts to cover up the scandal.

Practically lost in the 1,000-plus pages of records is an index that shows Jarrett was brought in to manage the fact that Holder lied to Congress after the story about the disastrous gun-running operation broke in the media.

(*PURSED LIPS*)

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) ran the once-secret program that allowed guns from the U.S. to be smuggled into Mexico so they could eventually be traced to drug cartels. Instead, federal law enforcement officers lost track of hundreds of weapons which have been used in an unknown number of crimes, including the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Arizona.

* AND NO ONE WENT TO JAIL...!!!

The files received by JW include three electronic mails between Holder and Jarrett and one from former U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke to Jarrett. The e-mails with Holder are all from October 4, 2011, a significant date because, on the evening of October 3rd, Sheryl Attkisson (then at CBS news) released documents showing that Holder had been sent a briefing paper on Operation Fast and Furious on June 5, 2010. The paper was from the director of the National Drug Intelligence Center, Michael Walther. This directly contradicted Holder’s May 3, 2011 testimony to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee...

* SMOKING GUN!

* STARTING AGAIN.. BUT CONTINUING...

This directly contradicted Holder’s May 3, 2011 testimony to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee during which he stated that he, “probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.”

* WHERE'S THE SPECIAL PROSECUTOR, FOLKS? (REMEMBER SCOOTER LIBBY? AND THEY HAD TO ACTUALLY RAILROAD HIM! HOLDER? HE ACTUALLY DID DELIBERATE LIE TO CONGRESS UNDER OATH!)

The October 4, 2011 date may also be significant because it came shortly after the August 30, 2011 resignation of U.S. Attorney for Arizona Dennis Burke and reassignment of acting ATF director Kenneth Melson to the position of “senior forensics advisor” at DOJ.

The description of one of the e-mails, written from Jarrett to Holder, reads, “re: personnel issues.”

(*SMIRK*)

Another, also from Jarrett, reads, “outlining and discussing preferred course of action for future responses in light of recent development in congressional investigation.”

* Er... HOW'BOUT "CONSPIRACY!"

Unfortunately, the index is vague and that’s all the information we have about them.

Nevertheless, given the timing and subject of these e-mails, it seems clear that Jarrett quickly became a key player in the Fast and Furious cover-up in the immediate aftermath of the revelation that Holder had lied to Congress.

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/10/24/new-york-new-jersey-set-up-mandatory-quarantine-requirement-amid-ebola-threat/

* GOOD FOR CUOMO AND CHRISTIE!

In the wake of the first confirmed Ebola virus case in New York City, the states of New York and New Jersey have set up a new screening system that goes above and beyond the guidelines already set up by federal officials.

As CBS 2’s Alice Gainer reported, no other states have yet set up increased screening procedures for Ebola.

“We believe it’s appropriate to increase the current screening procedures from people coming from affected countries from the current (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention screening procedures),” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday afternoon.

“We believe it within the State of New York and the State of New Jersey’s legal rights.”

Under the new rules, state officials will establish a risk level by considering the countries that people have visited and their level of possible exposure to Ebola.

* WOW... COMMON SENSE... AMAZING...!!!

The patients with the highest level of possible exposure will be automatically quarantined for 21 days at a government-regulated facility. As WCBS 880’s Rich Lamb reported, those patients include anyone having direct contact with a person infected with Ebola while in Liberia, Guinea, or Sierra Leone.

* HIP-HIP-HURRAH!

Those with a lower risk will be monitored for temperature and symptoms, Cuomo explained.

The New York and New Jersey health departments will determine their own specific procedures for hospitalization and quarantine, and will provide a daily recap to state officials on the status of screening, New York State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker said at the news conference.

The new procedures already have been put into use at Newark Liberty International Airport.

(*SINCERE APPLAUSE*)

* CONCLUDING... (Part 2 of 2)

On Friday, a health care worker landed at Newark after treating Ebola patients in West Africa, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said at the news conference. A legal quarantine was issued for the woman, who was not a New Jersey resident and was set to go on to New York afterward.

“This woman, while her home residence is outside the area, said her next stop was going to be here in New York,” Christie said. “Governor Cuomo and I discussed it before we came out here, and a quarantine order will be issued.”

The woman will be quarantined in either New York or New Jersey, Christie said.

* SOUNDS REASONABLE!

The woman was not showing any symptoms of Ebola, or illness of any kind, when she landed at Newark, CBS 2’s Jessica Schneider reported. But Cuomo and Christie said it no longer matters. ... Cuomo and Christie said a policy of voluntary quarantine simply does not go far enough. “Voluntary quarantine – you know it’s almost an oxymoron. This is a very serious situation.” Cuomo said.

* YES! AND OBAMA AND HIS PEOPLE ARE JUST PLAIN MORONS! (OBAMA SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS - NOT LEAVE IT UP TO INDIVIDUAL STATE GOVERNORS!)

“Voluntary quarantine – raise your right hand and promise you’re going to stay home for 21 days. We’ve seen what happens.”

The new rules were announced a day after Dr. Craig Spencer, a member of Doctors Without Borders, became New York City’s first Ebola patient.

He reported Thursday morning coming down with a fever and diarrhea and is being treated in an isolation ward at Bellevue Hospital, a designated Ebola center.

Spencer returned from West Africa last Friday after treating Ebola patients in Guinea with Doctors Without Borders. He arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport, passing the extensive CDC screening process.

“When he arrived in the United States, he was also well with no symptoms,” said New York City Health Commissioner Mary Travis Bassett.

Doctors Without Borders said per the guidelines it provides its staff members on their return from Ebola assignments, “the individual engaged in regular health monitoring and reported this development immediately.” But Spencer also took the subway, walked the High Line, and went bowling in Williamsburg, Brooklyn the day before he became sick.

* ONE MORE TIME...

But Spencer also took the subway, walked the High Line, and went bowling in Williamsburg, Brooklyn the day before he became sick.

“He was a doctor, and even he didn’t follow the guidelines,” Cuomo said.

With that in mind, the states have to lay down the law, the governors said.

“It’s too serious a situation to leave it to the honor system,” Cuomo said.

The CDC is reviewing its policy for health care workers returning from West Africa, but anyone flying into a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey airport will need to abide by the new procedures.

http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Motive-Hatchet-Attack-NYPD-Zale-Thompson-Ax-Queens-Motive-280312192.html

A man who assaulted a group of NYPD officers with a hatchet before they shot him dead committed "an act of terror," the city's top cop said Friday.

* WE NEED TO DISCRIMINATE BETWEEN TERRORISTS AND NUT-JOBS.

"We at this time believe that he acted alone," Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said Friday. "We would describe him as self-radicalized. We would describe him as self-directed in his activities."

* NUT-JOB.

Asked directly if Zale Thompson could be considered a homegrown terrorist or a "lone wolf," investigators said "it appears at this point" that terror was the suspect's "intent," though police stressed the investigation was in its preliminary stages.

Thompson's activity on social media indicated he was a convert to Islam and included rants about injustices in American society and oppression abroad but offered no clear evidence of any direct affiliation with terror groups, police said.

* NUT-JOB.

"The common thread going through those conversations are anti-western, anti-government, and in some cases anti-white," said John Miller, the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence and Counter-terrorism.

* HATE-CRIME.

In recent days, Thompson was "visiting websites that are focused on designated terrorist groups - al-Qaida, ISIS and al-Shabaab - as well as looking at different acts of violence," Miller said.

* NUT-JOB WITH INTERNET ACCESS.

Thompson charged a group of four officers with the 18-inch hatchet as they posed for a picture by a freelance photographer on a Jamaica street corner, striking one officer in the head and another in the arm, authorities said. The two other officers opened fire, killing Thompson.

* DEAD NUT-JOB.

(*TWO THUMBS UP*)

"Those officers exhibited extraordinary bravery and skill in not only taking down an individual who was intent on killing them but also rendering first aid immediately to their fallen comrade," Bratton said.

* "EXTRAORDINARY" BRAVERY...??? (FOUR COPS... WITH GUNS... AGAINST ONE NUT... WITH AN AX-HAMMER. NOT EXACTLY DAVY CROCKETT AT THE ALAMO!)

* HEY... NO DISRESPECT! BUT WOULDN'T YOU HAVE BET ON THE COPS? IS ANYONE SAYING THAT THE "ORDINARY" RESPONSE WOULD BE TO STAND THERE AND LET THEMSELVES BE MURDERED ONE AT A TIME?

* AS TO RENDERING FIRST AID IMMEDIATELY... ISN'T THAT KINDA IN THE JOB DESCRIPTION...??? (JUST SAYIN'...)

Moments before the attack, the suspect was seen on a street corner crouching down to pull the hatchet out of backpack before he charged the officers and began swinging the hatchet with a two-handed grip, police said.

* THANK GOD HE DIDN'T ATTACK UNARMED CIVILIANS.

Mayor de Blasio called it a "vicious attack" by a "troubled individual."

* GOTTA GO WITH DE BLASIO ON THIS ONE!

The two officers who were hurt remained at the hospital Friday. Healy was "recovering but in a great deal of pain," Bratton said.

* FRANKLY... I'D LIKE TO KNOW HOW TWO OFFICERS GOT HURT. (AGAIN... FOUR COPS... FOUR GUNS...)

A 29-year-old woman hit by police crossfire during the attack is also still at the hospital; she was listed in critical but stable condition.

* GEEZUS...

* PERHAPS THE WORDS "INCREDIBLY INEPT" APPLY. (JUST SAYIN'...) WE'RE TALKING CLOSE QUARTERS. WE'RE TALKING NOT JUST MISSING ONE'S TARGET, BUT HITTING AN INNOCENT BYSTANDER.

(*SIGH*)

Thompson had six prior arrests in California in 2003 and 2004, mostly on domestic charges, authorities said. His only point of contact with the NYPD was in 1998 - as a victim of assault. Thompson was involuntarily discharged from the military in 2003 after a three-year stint, possibly because of drugs, officials said. An ax and a hunting knife were recovered from his home.

* NOT EXCUSING ANYTHING... JUST TRYING TO PUT THE PIECES OF THE PUZZLE TOGETHER.

http://online.wsj.com/articles/heather-mac-donald-the-democratic-embrace-of-al-sharpton-1414190537

The Rev. Al Sharpton once epitomized New York’s bad old days of the 1980s, when the then-corpulent, gold-medallion-bedecked tub thumper inflamed racial hatred and courted violence.

* SAME GUY TODAY. JUST A NEW OUTER SHELL.

Today, against all expectations and at least 100 pounds lighter, he has been rehabilitated into the Democratic Party’s civil-rights leader of choice.

* PROVING ONCE AGAIN EXACTLY WHAT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IS...

(*SHRUG*)

President Obama’s embrace of Mr. Sharpton has been particularly intense this year. On Monday he called Mr. Sharpton’s radio show to discuss the Nov. 4 elections. In April the president appeared at a political rally organized by Mr. Sharpton’s National Action Network. Mr. Obama’s closest adviser, Valerie Jarrett, conferred with Mr. Sharpton in August about the police killing of an unarmed black teenager in Ferguson, Mo., as Mr. Sharpton led protests against the Ferguson police.

* WHAT'S IT GONNA TAKE, FOLKS?

The Democratic establishment is just as obsequious. It turned out in force earlier this month to celebrate Mr. Sharpton’s 60th birthday party at New York’s tony Four Seasons restaurant.

* THE PARTY OF THE LITTLE PEOPLE...

Hillary Clinton phoned in with best wishes. Barack and Michelle Obama sent a congratulatory letter. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo gushed: “He’s the nation’s Rev. Sharpton — and the nation is better for it.” New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman , Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand , and Reps. Charles Rangel and Jerry Nadler rushed to pay their respects.

(*JUST SHAKING MY HEAD*)

* SERIOUSLY... HOW CAN ANYONE BE A DEMOCRAT? AS DISGUSTING AS THE GOP ESTABLISHMENTARIANS ARE... THE DEMOCRATS ARE JUST SO MUCH WORSE WITH SO MANY LESS REDEEMING FEATURES.

Worrying as it might be for America to see Mr. Sharpton catapulted into the national limelight, that is nothing compared with the alarm felt by many New Yorkers now witnessing his emergence as a political power in their city.

* TO BE CONTINUED...

William R. Barker said...

* CONTINUING... (Part 2 of 4)

When New Yorkers elected Bill de Blasio as mayor last year, they knew they were getting a self-styled “progressive” who pledged to soak the rich and shackle the New York Police Department. What they didn’t know was that they were also voting to bring Al Sharpton and his influence into the very heart of City Hall. The mayor’s alliance with the racial provocateur is now creating the biggest crisis of his mayoralty.

So far Mr. de Blasio is pretending not to notice. As the crisis escalated, involving a former Sharpton aide now working for the mayor’s wife, Mr. de Blasio ladled on the praise at the Four Seasons. “Al Sharpton has been a blessing for this city,” the mayor enthused. “He’s been a blessing for this nation. And the more people criticize him, the more I want to hang out with him. Because a lot of times, just look who’s doing the criticizing and the way they’re saying it — it makes you realize the Rev must be doing something right. You know, sometimes, your enemies are the best endorsers of the righteousness of your actions.”

* GEEZUS...

Where to start in evaluating what a “blessing” Al Sharpton has been to New York and America?

For those who have forgotten or are too young to recall, here is a brief history of the man now so warmly embraced by the mayor, the governor and the president.

There was Mr. Sharpton’s frenzied involvement in the Tawana Brawley case.

In 1987 Ms. Brawley, a 15-year-old African-American, concocted a tale of being raped by six white males. The allegation was ultimately revealed as a hoax, but not before Mr. Sharpton had commandeered the racially incendiary story and poured fuel on it by accusing a white county prosecutor of having been among the attackers. The prosecutor, Steven Pagones, won a defamation suit in 1998 against Mr. Sharpton, Ms. Brawley and her lawyers. Mr. Sharpton refused to pay the judgment against him, which was eventually discharged by a group of supporters.

In 1991 a Hasidic driver in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights accidentally ran onto a sidewalk and killed a 7-year-old black child named Gavin Cato. Mr. Sharpton led protesters in angry cries of “No justice, no peace,” criticized Jewish diamond merchants in the neighborhood for selling goods from apartheid South Africa, and spoke at a rally where a banner said, “Hitler did not do the job.” During three days of violence following the accident, rioters beat to death an Australian rabbinical student named Yankel Rosenbaum.

In 1995 Mr. Sharpton led a protest in Harlem to stop a Jewish landlord — a “white interloper,” in Mr. Sharpton’s words — from evicting a black-operated record shop. One of the protesters would later set fire to the store, killing seven store employees.

* KILLING... SEVEN... STORE... EMPLOYEES...

Mr. Sharpton has never apologized for his involvement in the Brawley hoax. Nor has he taken responsibility for his agitation in Crown Heights.

* TO BE CONTINUED...

William R. Barker said...

* CONTINUING... (Part 3 of 4)

In 2008 the Associated Press reported that Mr. Sharpton and his business entities owed nearly $1.5 million in taxes and penalties, as well as tens of thousands of dollars in fines for unpaid workers' compensation and unemployment insurance. By this year Mr. Sharpton’s tax liabilities had ballooned to $4.7 million, according to the New York Post. He still owes the Federal Election Commission $208,000 for the improper use of campaign money during his 2004 presidential bid.

* WHY IS HE NOT IN JAIL? ASK CUOMO! ASK OBAMA! (HELL... ASK THAT PIECE OF SHIT GEORGE W. BUSH...)

Not relevant, apparently, to Mr. Sharpton’s increasing reach into Democratic circles. Mr. Sharpton believes that New York’s mayor owes him his job — a belief shared, it seems, by Mr. de Blasio himself.

Mr. Sharpton pointedly declined to endorse the sole black candidate in the Democratic primary last year. That left the field open for a late-surging Mr. de Blasio, who had run a demagogic campaign against the New York Police Department, denouncing its stop-question-and-frisk policies as racist. Candidate de Blasio also pandered to black voters by prominently featuring his biracial son in campaign ads. “We won the election,” Mr. Sharpton later told CBS New York.

Mr. de Blasio’s first offering of thanks was to hire Mr. Sharpton’s longtime public-relations adviser as his wife’s $170,000-a-year chief of staff.

* WHY DOES THE MAYOR'S WIFE HAVE A PUBLIC PAID PUBLIC RELATIONS ADVISER...???

Such a position was unprecedented, but the choice of Rachel Noerdlinger to fill it was even more startling. It put an Al Sharpton confidante at the center of city power.

Next, Mayor de Blasio implied that Mr. Sharpton was a major player in police affairs. In late July the mayor convened a meeting of “community advocates” to discuss the death of a black man following the man’s arrest for selling untaxed loose cigarettes. Mr. Sharpton’s inevitable protests against the NYPD had blamed the death on the enforcement of public-order laws, including the ban on selling loose cigarettes. Such enforcement is key to “broken windows” policing — stopping minor crimes as a way of preventing major ones.

Mr. Sharpton was led in to the mayor’s community meeting by his former aide, Ms. Noerdlinger, and seated on Mr. de Blasio’s left, with Police Commissioner William Bratton, serving his second tour as New York’s top law officer, on the mayor’s right. The symbolism was lost on no one, least of all police officers. The next day, a mock NYPD identification card circulated through police headquarters showing Mr. Sharpton as commissioner.

* TO BE CONTINUED...

William R. Barker said...

* CONCLUDING... (Part 4 of 4)

By the time of the Four Seasons birthday blowout, the mayor’s Noerdlinger-Sharpton connection was turning toxic. As the local press reported, the 43-year-old single mother had failed to disclose in her City Hall background check that she was living with an unemployed ex-convict who had served time for fatally shooting a man over a jacket and for drug dealing. The boyfriend, Hassaun McFarlan, had referred to the police as “pigs” on his now-vanished Facebook page.

Ms. Noerdlinger had received a waiver of the city’s residency requirement by citing her teenage son’s need to continue a physical-therapy regime in New Jersey following a traffic accident. She didn’t mention that he was fit enough to play linebacker on his high-school football team.

(Like Mr. McFarlan, that son has referred to the police as “pigs” on social media, and he has tweeted: “I’m convinced all white people are the devil.”)

* THESE... ARE... THE... DEMOCRATS...!!!

* THESE... ARE... THE... FRIENDS... OF... THE... DEMOCRATS...!!!

* EVERY TIME YOU VOTE DEMOCRAT YOU STRENGTHEN THESE PEOPLE. IT'S THAT FUCKING SIMPLE.

Ms. Noerdlinger has a federal tax lien against her, typical of the Sharpton inner circle, but failed to report it to the city’s conflict of interest board. She has been involved to varying degrees in McFarlan-related dust-ups with the law, including hundreds of dollars in unpaid traffic tickets issued to her Mercedes-Benz since her City Hall job began.

Mayor de Blasio has refused to discuss the implications for his administration of these and other revelations. Nor has he disciplined Ms. Noerdlinger for her multiple omissions on city background checks.

Despite Mr. Sharpton’s current mainstream patina, his stock-in-trade has changed little from his Tawana Brawley-Crown Heights days, as the disintegration of his inflammatory narrative about the police shooting in Ferguson, Mo., demonstrates. Apart from rare forays into the rhetoric of personal responsibility, he still peddles the dangerous lie that police officers are the greatest threat facing young black men and that racial discrimination is the main force holding blacks back.

In fact, it is other young black men who are responsible for the high homicide risk faced by black teens, and it is proactive policing that has dramatically reduced that risk, saving thousands of young lives in places like New York City. Mr. Sharpton’s longevity as a public figure rests on the enduring power of racial grievance to elevate those politicians who accede to it, while distracting attention from the family and social breakdown afflicting the black community. Mayor de Blasio’s Sharpton predicament is nevertheless a cautionary tale about the risks of getting too close to the Reverend Al.

So...I've been thinking about something you said months ago. The Democrats are pigs. Yes, republicans have their share of them, but Democrats really can't get any more repulsive

It IS time to consider friendships and alliances. There is no benefit of doubt anymore. They're goal is the destruction of all that is good.
