Well, folks... here are the names:
Alexander (R-TN)
Ayotte (R-NH)
Burr (R-NC)
Chambliss (R-GA)
Coats (R-IN)
Coburn (R-OK)
Collins (R-ME)
Coons (D-DE)
Corker (R-TN)
Flake (R-AZ)
Kirk (R-IL)Murkowski (R-AK)
And here are the "Republicans" who didn't bother to make it back to Washington D.C. in order to take part in the vote:
Graham (R-SC)
Hatch (R-UT)
McCain (R-AZ)
McConnell (R-KY)
Moran (R-KS)
Paul (R-KY)
Portman (R-OH)
Thune (R-SD)
Folks... in theory the Federal Reserve is an independent body. The Chair of the Federal Reserve is not "responsible" to the President in the sense that federal department appointees and ambassadors are. Therefore the twelve scumbags don't even have the excuse that "the president is entitled to have his own people serve under him."
Nope. This vote should have been taken with only one question in mind - did the ideology of the candidate match with that of the Senators.
(*PURSED LIPS*)
Folks... again... while I'm quite aware that of the two parties the Democrat Party is the worse of two evils, never forget... TWO evils...
Did McConnell attempt to rally the Republicans to at least make a clear policy statement via a united "no" vote?
(*JUST SHAKING MY HEAD*)
Anyone who thinks the GOP is the party of "the good guys" is sorely mistaken.
God help this once great nation...
