President Obama promised a $400 million aid package for the West Bank and Gaza on Wednesday...

(*THROWING MY HANDS UP IN THE AIR*)

* WASN'T IT REPORTED JUST THE OTHER DAY THAT U.S DEBT IS TO RISE TO $19.6 TRILLION BY 2015...?!?!

* RHETORICAL QUESTION... THE ANSWER IS "YES."

The exact details of how such aid would be used in Gaza remained unclear. Nor was it immediately clear how Mr. Abbas, who has authority in the West Bank but no authority in Gaza, would be able to administer it.

* YEP. THIS SOUNDS PAR THE COURSE FOR OBAMA...

(*GRITTING MY TEETH*)

[T]he White House said in a statement, "While we work with our partners in the Palestinian Authority, Israel, Egypt, and the international community to put such a strategy in place, these projects represent a down payment on the United States’ commitment to Palestinians in Gaza, who deserve a better life and expanded opportunities, and the chance to take part in building a viable, independent state of Palestine, together with those who live in the West Bank."

* SO HEADLINE SOME FUNDRAISERS! JEEZUS FRIGG'N CHRIST... WE'RE BEYOND BROKE... WE'RE GETTING FURTHER AND FURTHER IN NATIONAL DEBT SECOND BY SECOND WITH NO END IN SIGHT AND ALL THE DEMOCRATS KNOW HOW TO DO IS KEEP DIGGING!

Insurgents shot down a NATO helicopter and killed four American troops in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday...

* THE AGE OF OBAMA...

The United States, whose some 94,000 troops vastly outnumber the rest of the allies' contributions in Afghanistan, has lost 17 service members since Sunday.

* THE AGE OF OBAMA...

A Virginia-based insurance [nHealth] company says “considerable uncertainties” created by the Democrats’ health care overhaul will force it to close its doors by the end of the year.

* BUT I THOUGHT OBAMA AND THE DEMS PROMISED - PROMISED - THAT THOSE OF US WHO WERE HAPPY WITH OUR PRE-OBAMACARE INSURANCE COULD KEEP IT...??? (*SNORT* followed immediately by a *SIGH*)

Last week, in a letter to the company’s 50 or so employees, Executive Vice President James Slabaugh said nHealth has stopped accepting new group customers and will terminate all business by Dec. 31.

* OH, YEAH... IT'S NOT JUST POLICY HOLDERS WHO GET NAILED. REAL PEOPLE LOSE REAL JOBS WHEN GOVERNMENT SMOTHERS FREE ENTERPRISE.

A ruling on Monday by U.S. District Judge H. Russel Holland in Anchorage is putting the brakes on wolf-population-control efforts in Alaska.

The state wants to launch an emergency aerial wolf kill on a federal wildlife refuge in the Aleutian Islands, in order to save a herd of caribou that has plummeted in size from 1,200 animals in 2002 to just 250 today largely due to wolf predation. An aerial wolf kill could protect this summer’s crop of caribou calves, but the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) wants to study the issue further before taking action. The federal judge decided to give the USFWS the time it wants.

Larry Bell, the assistant regional director for the USFWS in Alaska, says the agency will wrap up its study by December. Meanwhile, Cindy Beamer, general manager of Isanotski Corp., which represents Alaska Native residents in the area, told the Los Angeles Times, “The wolves don’t have enough caribou to eat, [and] where the wolves are camping out, [there] now are houses that have little seven‑ and ten‑year‑old children.”

In case you’ve bought the environmentalists’ claim that no wolf has ever killed a person in North America, think again. The most recent example: On March 11, 2010, in Chignik Lake, Alaska, wolves ran down and killed Candice Berner, a 32-year-old teacher.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2010/06/rahm-emanuel-bp-gul-oil-spill.html

In case you were tempted to buy the faux Washington outrage at BP and its gulf oil spill in recent days, here's a story that reveals a little-known corporate political connection and the quiet way the inner political circles intersect, protect and care for one another in the nation's capital. And Chicago.

We already knew that BP and its folks were significant contributors to the record $750-million war chest of Barack Obama's 2007-08 campaign. Now, we learn the details of a connection of Rahm Emanuel...current Obama chief of staff, ex-representative, ex-Clinton money man and ex-Windy City political machine go-fer.

Shortly after Obama's happy inaugural, eyebrows rose slightly upon word that, as a House member, Emanuel had lived the last five years rent-free in a D.C. apartment of Democratic colleague Rep. Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut and her husband, Stanley Greenberg. For an ordinary American, that would likely raise some obvious tax liability questions. But like Emanuel, the guy overseeing the Internal Revenue Service now is another Obama insider, Tim Geithner...

(*SMIRK*)

Remember this was all before the letters BP stood for Huge Mess. Even before the Obama administration gave BP a safety award.

Now follow these standard Washington links if you can:

Greenberg's consulting firm was a prime architect of BP's recent rebranding drive...

Greenberg's company is also closely tied to a sister Democratic outfit - GCS, named for the last initials of Greenberg, James Carville, and Bob Shrum...

According to published reports, GCS received hundreds of thousands of dollars in political polling contracts in recent years from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Probably just a crazy coincidence. But you'll never guess who was the chairman of that Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee dispensing those huge polling contracts to his kindly rent-free landlord.

[YEP... YOU GUESSED IT... RAHM EMANUEL.]

http://www.nationalreview.com/kudlows-money-politics/204024/do-you-think-gold-might-be-telling-us-something

In case you missed it, President Obama was out and about yesterday pitching $250 rebate checks for Medicare prescription-drug coverage. At the same time, gold prices were roaring ahead, hitting a record-high $1,245 an ounce. So let me ask: Is there a link between the government doling out even more budget-busting benefits to the elderly and the skyrocketing gold price?

Or look at a new Treasury report to Congress indicating that the U.S. debt is expected to soar to nearly $20 trillion by 2015. How about that? Do you think this latest mind-blowing multi-trillion-dollar debt projection might have something to do with the soaring gold price?

And don’t forget that the Congressional Budget Office just increased its Obamacare cost estimate by $115 billion. That brings the total cost to more than $1 trillion in the first ten years. Think there might be a gold connection?

Big-government spending, big-government borrowing, and an ultra-easy-money Fed for as far as the eye can see. And gold prices shooting to the moon.

Do you think there might be a connection? Maybe? It’s called cause and effect folks.

Here’s another question: What follows trillions in spending and borrowing?

Answer: Quadrillions.
