Had an interesting discussion with a buddy and "nephew" this weekend!
Specifics...????
Hmm... not quite yet... indeed perhaps never (at least here at Usually Right)...
I'd suggest my buddy and BELOVED "nephew" read this followed by this... and then we'll have some actual "meat" to chew over.
Note... I offer this NOT to say, "Look! It's in these books! It's gotta be right!"
Nope... I'm simply stating that reading the books will not only provide "education" in and of itself... but that reading these books will give insight into what I believe, why I believe it, and thus provide a foundation for further discussion so that we're talking to each other and not past each other.
Again, "boys," as I freely admit now - and stated on Saturday night - I was throwing a bunch of related stuff out there. I wasn't focusing upon one student or one school or even higher education itself in a vacuum...
Nope... I was all over the place - on purpose - because of how I connect the dots. (And again... I'm connecting the dots based upon a great deal of information that I've gathered studying the subject... plus of course real world experience - which we all have!)

As a candidate, Barack Obama vowed to bring a different, better kind of leadership to the dysfunctional capital. He'd make government more efficient, accountable and transparent. He'd rise above the "small-ball" nature of doing business. And he'd work with Republicans to break Washington paralysis.
"You can trust me," Obama said back in 2008. And - for a while, at least - a good piece of the country did.

Under the deal, Booz Allen employees are being assigned to help military and national security policy makers, the company said.

CBS News reports that is has unearthed documents from the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), an internal watchdog agency, that implicate the State Department in a series of misconducts worldwide.

The memo, reported by CBS News’ John Miller, cited eight specific examples, including allegations that a State Department security official in Beirut “engaged in sexual assaults” with foreign nationals hired as embassy guards and the charge and that members of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s security detail “engaged prostitutes while on official trips in foreign countries” — a problem the report says was “endemic.”

A draft of the Inspector General’s report on the performance of the Diplomatic Security Service, obtained by CBS News, states, “Hindering such cases calls into question the integrity of the investigative process, can result in counter-intelligence vulnerabilities and can allow criminal behavior to continue.”

Schools across Indiana are cutting back the hours of teacher assistants, bus drivers, cafeteria workers and other aides to avoid having to offer them health insurance under the federal health care employer mandate that begins next year.
"We cannot go out and raise the price of our product to assist us covering this. We would have to go the taxpayers and ask for some type of increase and I just don't see that happening," said Les Huddle, superintendent of the Lafayette School Corporation, where more than 150 of the schools approximately 600 non-certified employees have had their hours reduced to meet the federal definition of part-time.

The Internal Revenue Service is making permanent the 10% tax on tanning from ObamaCare.

Indoor tanning services have been subject to the excise tax since July of 2010. It was designed to help offset the sweeping healthcare bill’s cost by raising an estimated $2.7 billion in revenue.
The tax had been considered temporary while the IRS collected feedback from the public and interested parties about how it should be applied. As of Tuesday, the tax will be considered permanent.
“After considering the written comments and comments made at the public hearing, the proposed regulations are adopted as final regulations by this Treasury decision and the corresponding temporary regulations are removed,” a notice to be filed in the Federal Register reads.

The U.S. government has given the embattled Afghan National Army (ANA) more than $1 billion in taxpayer-funded ammunition, according to the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction’s (SIGAR) latest oversight report.

As George Zimmerman prepares to go on trial on a charge of second-degree murder, a video has been released that the defense says could help authenticate the 911 call. But lawyers for Martin’s family say it doesn’t belong in court.

A police detective, Chris Serino, wrote in an early report that he could hear a man yelling “Help” or “Help Me” 14 times. Prosecutors say the voice is Martin’s.

Defense lawyers say it could be George Zimmerman, who they say was being pummeled by Martin.
