My God... why am I being subjected to... Mrs. Romney?
Put aside the pandering, the packaging, the sheer boredom I'm experiencing right now...
(*PAUSE*)
Putting all that aside... why am I being subjected to a 20-plus minute speech given by the candidate's wife...?!?!
Dear... Friggin'... Great... God... Almighty...
MAKE THIS END...!!!
Jesus... I pray you...
GET THIS WOMAN OFF THE STAGE AND LET'S GET TO CHRIS CHRISTIE'S SPEECH!
So, how did you like Christie? 17 minutes of "me". Ok, maybe he was trying to get the opportunity/outcome point across, but 17 minutes???
ReplyDeleteI liked Christie.
ReplyDeleteAs he was giving the speech I turned to Mary and said "Too bad he's not the candidate."
(Not that I was a Christie supporter in that sense; I'm just talking gut reaction to the speech.)
As you know if you're a regular here, I "worship" HONESTY.
Christie's call for honesty... obviously it resonated with me.
Of course (general comment) with both his speech and Mrs. Romney's before it, I found myself basically "editing" as they went... visualizing the massaging of the message as it was honed.
(*SHRUG*)
My "problem" when watching these performances is that I can't help but visualize what went in to making the sausage - ya know what I mean?
The pandering particularly annoys me.
Christie's pandering... LESS annoying than Mrs. Romney's.
Again, though... going back to my screed - live - submitted last night... my larger problem with Mrs. Romney is that America is supposed to be a Republic, not a monarchy with nobles and their noble ladies.
Ya think you would have had Dennis Thatcher babbling on for almost a half hour about how loveable Maggie was while introducing her to a party nominating crowd?!
Jeezus...
Unless you've independently DONE something... stick to the background.
Christie... now HE'S a self-made man who deserves every bit of attention he gets!
Anyway... rambling response... but there ya have it.
